Issue
-----

The message **"This site may be hacked"** will be shown if Google believes your site may have been altered by a hacker.  The notification will not be removed until the owner of the site takes action.

![Search result for "Example Domain" with a warning message: "This site may be hacked" highlighted in red.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/3db07e51-b709-4c3b-acc0-f4876ecf19f1/web/ka06g000001m1m100N6g00000VCdgi0EM6g000004e2NC.png)

Resolution
----------

1. Register and verify your site in Google’s [Search Console](https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/home) .
2. Log in to Search Console, and navigate to the “Security Issues” section.  This will allow you to see a sample of URLs that are possibly impacted.
3. Address the security issues associated with those pages, otherwise your site will continue to be flagged.
4. Contact Google requesting a rescan of the listing.
    * The results of the scan will assist us in determining why were you reported as compromised.  This in turn will allow you to set a plan in action.
