Table of contents will be added

The Cloud Platform user interface groups subscriptions, applications, and teams under an [organization](/acquia-cloud-platform/glossary). An organization can represent different business objects for different entities, depending on your needs. You can group all your applications under a single organization, or split them apart into multiple organizations if the applications are developed by separate business units.

Acquia sets up your organizations when you create an Acquia subscription. Each subscription, including its applications, and each team belongs to one (and only one) organization. A team member may be on teams assigned to any number of organizations.

Viewing organizations
---------------------

To view your organizations:

1. [Sign in to the Cloud Platform user interface](/node/55875).
2. In the top menu, click **Manage**.

The system displays the My Organizations page. This page lists information cards with each card containing details about all the organizations in which you have a role. Based on your role in the organization, the card displays the [organization’s owner and administrators](#cloud-org-roles-actions). However, if you are associated with a single organization, the system does not display the My Organizations page and instead redirects you to the Overview page for the specific organization. You can view your details along with information about the administrators, members, teams, and applications in the organization.

    * If you are the _Owner_ or an _Administrator_ of the organization, the card displays the number of teams, roles, and subscriptions in the organization.

    * If you are not the _Owner_ or an _Administrator_ of the organization, the card displays the name of the owner and administrators of the organization that you are a part of.

If you are the _Owner_ or an _Administrator_, or have the _administer team_ permission (which by default a _Team lead_ has), you can use the links at the bottom of the information card to invite a member to a team or remove a member from teams. For more information, see [Managing team members](/acquia-cloud-platform/access/teams/members).

To view more details about the organization, including the organization’s teams, team members, and applications, click the organization name or the **Manage** button at the bottom of the card.

Organization roles and actions
------------------------------

Each organization has a single [Owner](/acquia-cloud-platform/glossary) and one or more [Administrators](/acquia-cloud-platform/glossary). The _Owner_ and _Administrators_ have all permissions relating to every application under the organization. They can also give other users the _Administrator_ role.

The following table describes different actions _Owners_ and _Administrators_ can take with organizations:

Transferring ownership of an organization

Transferring ownership from an unavailable owner
------------------------------------------------

If the _Owner_ of your organization leaves without first transferring ownership of the organization and its applications to another user account, depending on your subscription level, complete the following steps to transfer ownership to another user account:

* _Cloud Platform Enterprise and Site Factory subscriptions_: [create a Support ticket](/service-offerings/support#contact-acquia-support). For security purposes, Acquia Support does not transfer ownership of an account without the approval of your Account Manager.
* _All other subscription types_: A user account assigned to the _Administrator_ [role](/acquia-cloud-platform/access/teams/roles) must [create a Support ticket](/service-offerings/support#contact-acquia-support). For security purposes, Acquia Support works with existing members of your team to determine if the request is legitimate. To transfer a subscription paid for by credit card, the new owner must have a valid credit card associated with their Cloud Platform account. For information about how to update the credit card for an account, see [My credit card information changed. How do I change my billing information?](/service-offerings/billing/billing-faq#billing-card-info-changed).

For more information about securing your Cloud Platform subscription from users who previously owned your organization, see [Best practices for team member departures](/acquia-cloud-platform/access/teams/remove).

Note

For security purposes, Acquia Support cannot transfer an organization’s ownership during the timeframe of a phone call.
