Yes. You’ll need an Acquia DAM (Widen) account to create and share portals.  
  
To only view portals, you do not need a DAM account. However, if you're [invited to or shared](https://support.widencollective.com/support/solutions/articles/6000135160-how-do-i-share-a-portal-) a portal that requires an [access code](https://support.widencollective.com/support/solutions/articles/6000135160-how-do-i-share-a-portal-), the portal creator will supply that.
