Table of contents will be added

Review proofs in the enhanced proofer just like you would in the standard proofer. In most cases, you get an email that lets you know you have a new proof to review or that there are new comments or replies on a proof. Everyone who is listed as a reviewer on the proof will receive the email. Open the proof from the review notification or from the Workflow app to be taken to the enhanced reviewer.

Note

Changes to a user's email address can disrupt their ability to provide feedback on or submit decisions on existing proof assignments. To prevent access issues, reach out to Support before changing email addresses. If a change has already occurred and a user is experiencing issues, contact Acquia Support.

Add, mark up, and delete comments
---------------------------------

The comment tool in the enhanced proofer works very much like the one in the standard proofer, with some additions. Click Comment to indicate your feedback, then click Post to publish your comment for all reviewers to see.

![Cursor hovering over a "Comment" button with tooltip showing keyboard shortcut for adding comments.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/51912151-fba5-408b-b609-216c1ee0dbf0/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005LvlY.png?w=480&itok=qHXCahuW)

You can also use markup tools to indicate specific places on a proof that needs to be changed. Choose from different shapes (arrow, line, rectangle, or text select) to indicate your changes, select a color for those shapes, or attach a file to the comment. You can tie multiple annotations to one comment.

If you add a comment and decide that it's no longer needed, remove the comment. You can always come back and restore it so it displays again.

You can also use the comments feature to [ask the AI assistant](How-do-I-use-the-AI-assistant-in-the-enhanced-proofer), a chatbot built inside the Workflow app, a question and receive a creative solution.

See comments
------------

If you are @mentioned or included as a reviewer on a proof, you can reply to comments from within the enhanced proofer. When you select a comment in the comment box, you automatically be taken to the page with the comment. Click through comments by selecting the up and down arrows above the activity stream.

Resolve and filter comments
---------------------------

If you are incorporating a reviewer's comments, click the circle to resolve them after you have taken action.

![A comment thread discussing font color and image contrast, with a decision to leave it unchanged. "Mark as resolved" button is highlighted.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/25eb5f8a-af7a-4080-98f8-8fde7165858a/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005LvlZ.png?h=480&itok=lH9pETji)

You can also use the filters to find comments that still require action.

![Filter menu interface with options for comments, reviewer, stage, and labels. Includes checkboxes for additional filters and buttons for "Done" and "Clear."](https://acquia.widen.net/content/90abeaed-0d5c-45c9-bf7f-16ff8026f14f/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005Lvlk.png?h=480&itok=TbYEU2IC)

Add comments to previous stages
-------------------------------

As a default setting, users cannot add comments to proofs from stages that have been completed. However, this setting can be changed by contacting DAM customer support to allow comments and replies on proofs from previous stages or replies only.

Once this setting is updated for your site, select a previous stage for the proof you are viewing and then add comments or replies.

Export comments
---------------

Choose to export comments for the current version or all versions of a proof. Also choose whether to display a thumbnail of the full proof image or one that is zoomed in on the markups (lines, arrows, squares, ovals, and text select) in the proof.

![Cursor hovering over a "Comment" button with tooltip showing keyboard shortcut for adding comments.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/51912151-fba5-408b-b609-216c1ee0dbf0/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005LvlY.png?w=480&itok=qHXCahuW)

Annotate text
-------------

For proofs with text, select words and/or sentences that you’d like changed or deleted, and you’ll have the option to highlight, replace, delete, or insert text and tie that to a comment. Choose the text tool, then select text on the proof and enter your comment. In this case, we’ve selected to replace text, which will display with a strikethrough markup along with a corresponding comment.

You can also quickly search for keywords or phrases within text-heavy documents to ensure you’re using the correct terminology for your brand, find misspelled words, or confirm that the appropriate headers and footers are in place.

Submit decisions and complete your review
-----------------------------------------

When you are done adding your feedback in the proof, you want to submit your decision. If you have permission to make decisions, the **Make decision** button will display at the top of the file. You can indicate that the proof is approved, approved with changes, or that changes are required, and the proof creator will be notified. Pending is indicated if you haven't submitted a decision.

![Dropdown menu with options: Decision pending, Approved, Approved with changes, Changes required. A cursor hovers over the "Make decision" button.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/f3f3d045-4b02-45c5-a71e-954ed180e26e/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005Lvlm.png?w=480&itok=JcDfSGHf)

You can let proof creators know that you’re done reviewing even if you do not have permission to make a decision about the proof. Similar to the standard proofer, select Complete review, then choose the Review complete option

![Cursor hovers over "Complete review" button, showing options: "Review complete" with checkmark and "In progress" with clock icon.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/671410f8-f9b4-449e-a53a-fa054f9e9d41/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005Lvln.png?w=480&itok=ZZZHJqDO)

Compare proofs
--------------

There may be instances where you want to see what comments were made on a previous proof and compare those to what you’re looking at on an updated version. A side-by-side comparison of the proofs allows you to see the previous feedback and ensure it was incorporated accurately, then use markup tools to add anything more. Click to compare proof versions to see the most current proof with the previous versions.

![Comment section screenshot with a user suggesting a font color update. Options to edit, copy link, or remove are visible.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/bc0901d4-7fbf-480e-8954-6518d27bd420/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005Lvll.png?w=480&itok=I67BE_fT)

When comparing, click the version dropdown for either version to compare it with other versions.

![Festive holiday arrangement with pine branches, pinecones, dried oranges, red berries, and cinnamon sticks on a gray background. Text placeholders are present.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/7b4e840e-ed41-4676-a26f-c685bd7802f1/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005Lvlj.png?w=480&itok=LfNCKKDs)

As you compare, you can:

* Lock the navigation for the proofs so additional markups and comments cannot be added
* Re-sync the compared proofs so that any changes made to one version automatically happen in the other version
* Choose to overlay the proof versions to see the differences
* Auto compare the versions to highlight the differences
* Use the pixel mode color selector to select a color to highlight the differences, which is useful if colored text is in either version

Check color separation
----------------------

Using the color separation feature, reviewers can view assets and identify possible print issues by measuring color density. One of the most helpful ways to use the color separation feature is when you're comparing versions.

Currently, this is only available for PDF documents. To use this feature, click the Color separation icon in the enhanced viewer toolbar.

![PDF toolbar with a highlighted "Color separation" icon, indicated by a green arrow, on a dark interface.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/a668c64e-d947-4c37-ae59-83ee180ff1f6/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EMPb0000039qda.png)

In the Channels panel, you see colors and percentages. Moving your cursor over the asset will show you the color density percentage under the cursor.

![PDF editing software interface showing a document titled "eudaimonia" with color channel adjustments on the left.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/6dc9c9cc-b121-45ef-8567-b2b755a19e7a/web/ka0Pb000000709l00N6g00000WDN1a0EMPb0000039pJL.png?w=480&itok=YxznFVSW)

You can turn individual color channels on and off by clicking the eye icon.
