After you [create collections](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-create-collections "How do I create collections?"), they can be shared from the Selection panel and the [Collections page](/acquia-dam/what-can-i-do-collections-page "What can I do on the Collections page?"). Assets can be shared as a collection or via email from the Selection panel. Global and personal [collections](/acquia-dam/what-are-collections "What are collections?") that have already been created can be shared from the Collections page.

Share from the Selection panel
------------------------------

To share assets as a collection from the Selection panel, follow these steps:

1.  Add assets to the Selection panel.
2.  Select the **Share** icon.
3.  Select **Share as collection**.

Enter a title and a description. 

Click **Share** to share the collection via email or **Edit Share Page** to create a [collection share page](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-create-collection-share-pages "How do I create collection share pages?"). In the instance below, we will share the collection with you in an email.

Next, select who should receive the collection. Add new contacts if the recipient names are not displayed. The shared collection displays in the Shared Collections table on the Collections page. Choose from [collection options](/acquia-dam/what-can-i-do-collections-page "What can I do on the Collections page?") on the Collections page, which include the edits made to the _Share Collection_ page.

Share via email
---------------

Assets can also be shared by email from the Selection panel. To share by email:

1.  Add assets to the Selection panel.
2.  Click the **Share** icon.
3.  Click **Share via Email**.

Next, select who should receive the email. [Add new contacts](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-add-contacts-my-contact-list "How do I add contacts to my contact list?") if the recipient names are not displayed.

After that, choose the [conversion formats](What-are-conversion-formats) you want to share. The assets will be shared via email and the [Shares page](What-will-I-see-on-the-Shares-page) displays.

Consider permissions
--------------------

Users who are not logged in to Acquia DAM (Widen) and non-users see all assets in a shared collection. Logged-in recipients see assets in the collection according to their assigned permissions. This applies whether you share a collection through the Selection panel or by email.

If you cannot view assets in a shared collection, use these solutions:

1.  Log out of Acquia DAM before you access the collection link. Users who are not logged in can view all assets in shared collections.
2.  Open the collection link in incognito or private browsing mode.

If these solutions do not work, try the following steps:

*   Disconnect from any VPN, or use a device without a VPN connection.
*   Clear your browser cache.
*   Verify your browser version and update it if needed.
*   Open the link in a different browser.

  
Collections page
-------------------

Share global and personal collections from the Collections page. To share a global or personal collection, click Share Collection and select recipients.  
  
Note that global collections will only display on the Collections page when the Administrate Global Collections [permission](What-does-each-permission-mean) is enabled by your site admin. With that permission, you'll see all global collections listed, but you may not be able to access all assets within those collections if you don't have [permissions for the asset groups](What-are-asset-group-permissions) to which those assets belong.
