Introduction
------------

This document describes the first tasks you should complete after logging in to Acquia DAM (Widen) for the first time.

Upload your first assets
------------------------

1.  Navigate to **Assets**.
    
2.  Select **Upload** or drag and drop files into the browser window.
    
3.  Select the destination folder for your assets.
    
4.  Add metadata to your assets during or after upload.

Apply metadata to assets
------------------------

1.  Select one or more assets in the asset grid.
    
2.  Select **Edit metadata**.
    
3.  Fill in the required and optional metadata fields.
    
4.  Select **Save**.
    

Applying consistent metadata ensures that assets are easy to find and properly categorized.

Organize assets into folders and collections
--------------------------------------------

1.  Create folders that reflect your organization's structure.
    
2.  Move assets into the appropriate folders.
    
3.  Create collections to group related assets across folders for campaigns, projects, or themes.

Review user permissions
-----------------------

1.  Navigate to **Admin** > **Users**.
    
2.  Review the list of users and their assigned roles.
    
3.  Verify that each user has the appropriate level of access.
    
4.  Update roles or permissions as needed.

Share assets with your team
---------------------------

1.  Select one or more assets.
    
2.  Select **Share**.
    
3.  Choose to share via link or email.
    
4.  Set permissions and expiration dates for shared links.
    
5.  Select **Send** or **Copy link**.

Monitor asset activity
----------------------

1.  Navigate to **Insights**.
    
2.  Review asset download and view activity.
    
3.  Use reports to understand which assets are most popular and how they are being used.
    
4.  Set up scheduled reports to receive regular updates on asset activity.
