### MCP Server for Acquia DAM

You can now connect AI assistants such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or ChatGPT to Acquia DAM using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, users can search assets, retrieve asset details and CDN embed URLs, and explore metadata fields through natural language conversation in their AI assistant of choice.

The MCP Server uses OAuth authentication and enforces the same permission model as the DAM web UI and API. An AI assistant connected through MCP has read-only access limited to the permissions of the user who performed the OAuth configuration.

Before using the MCP Server, an Acquia administrator must enable it in _Admin Tools > Global Settings > Features_.

Customer benefits

* Conversational access to your DAM: Search for assets, get embed links, and explore your metadata schema using natural language in your existing AI tools.
* Enterprise-grade security: The same permission safeguards that protect assets in the web UI and API also apply to AI assistant interactions.
* Plug into agentic workflows: Incorporate DAM into your organization's AI orchestration layer, allowing third-party agents to discover and reference assets as part of automated workflows.

For more information, visit [MCP Server for Acquia DAM](/acquia-dam/mcp-server-acquia-dam "MCP Server for Acquia DAM").

### Bulk archive assets in the new search experience

You can now archive multiple assets at once directly from the new search experience. Select assets, click the Archive button in the bulk actions bar, and confirm the action. The system hides archived assets from standard users, reducing library clutter while preserving the assets and their historical data.

Note

You cannot reverse bulk archiving in the UI. Users must have the "Access Archived Assets" and "Administrate Archived Assets" permissions to use this feature.

Customer benefits

* Faster library cleanup: Clear out expired, seasonal, or outdated assets in bulk without permanently deleting them.
* Safer asset lifecycle management: Archiving hides assets from standard users while keeping historical data intact, unlike permanent deletion.
* One unified interface: Manage asset archiving directly from the new search experience without switching to legacy search.

For more information, visit [Bulk archive assets](/acquia-dam/bulk-archive-assets "Bulk archive assets").

### Thumbnail text in the new search experience

Thumbnail text now displays on asset cards in the new search experience. When your administrator has configured thumbnail text, asset cards display the file name as a clickable link, followed by custom metadata fields and action buttons. This brings the same at-a-glance metadata visibility from legacy search into the redesigned interface.

The new search experience supports up to 2 lines for the file name, 1 line break, and any number of metadata lines (it's recommended a maximum of 5). Your existing configuration applies to both search experiences automatically without changes.

Customer benefits

* See important metadata without opening asset details: Quickly identify assets by viewing licensing information, custom fields, or rights data directly on the thumbnail.
* No additional setup required: Your existing thumbnail text configuration applies automatically in the new search experience.

### PDF summarize on asset digest

The Asset Digest page now displays AI-generated summaries for PDF documents. When you view a PDF asset, the system automatically generates a concise summary of the document content, allowing you to understand the key points without downloading or opening the file.

Customer benefits

* Faster content discovery: Quickly understand what a PDF contains without opening or downloading the file.
* Improved asset evaluation: Make informed decisions about which documents to use or share based on AI-generated summaries.
