Asset Digest is a unified single-asset view where you can access all components of an asset, including its preview, metadata, attachments, versions, related content, AI functionality, and asset associations in things like Portals and integrations.

This tool, when paired with [Redesigned Search](/acquia-dam/what-redesigned-asset-search-experience "What is the redesigned asset search experience?"), gives you an updated search and single-asset resource flow, helping you better search and get the most value out of your content.

What is included?
-----------------

Our overall goal when building Asset Digest was to give you access to similar core functionality as seen in your legacy resources like [Asset Details](/acquia-dam/what-can-i-find-asset-digest "What can I find in the Asset Digest?") and Quick View, while also improving your experience with feedback-based UI updates and AI tools to help with asset management. All of this is built on a more stable, accessible architecture.

You still have access to familiar core features for interacting with individual assets:

* Asset preview (with different preview controls based on file types like images, documents, videos, etc.)

* Metadata, category, and security settings display and editing

* Asset download and share abilities

* Asset actions such as managing versions, adding attachments, archiving, deleting, uploading alternate previews, and bulk selecting

* Asset change and edit history display

*   File Info display

* EXIF and IPTC embedded metadata display

* All existing user permissions are carried over to make adoption as easy as possible

Overall, this new single-asset experience provides you the tools you need to manage individual assets, all with a refreshed UI. When paired with Redesigned Search, this gives you a cohesive, updated search and asset interaction flow.

UI improvements
---------------

Beyond core functionality built into Asset Digest, the overall UI experience has been updated compared to your legacy single-asset resource tools, and a few new features exclusive to Asset Digest have been added.

### Expandable and collapsible preview area

You can select the **Expand preview** icon to enlarge the asset on the page and make the asset information panel narrower. Note that the **Expand preview** icon only displays on windows larger than 1440px in width.

### Tags

Tags are a [controlled list of keywords](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-use-keyword-tags "How do I use keyword tags?") you can add to your assets. These tags are searchable in Acquia DAM and also clickable in Asset Digest, bringing you to a search of other assets with that tag applied. Tags dynamically link similar assets together, aiding in your users' search flow. Redesigned Search also has a dedicated filter for Tags, and Tags can be edited either from Asset Digest or the Bulk Edit tool in Redesigned Search.

### Show Empty Fields toggle for metadata fields

This new toggle allows individual users to either show all metadata fields an asset has applied or see only the metadata fields that have information tagged to them, aiding in the scannability of an asset's information.

### Redesigned individual asset download and share

Individual asset download includes the original and preconfigured downloads you had before, along with web-friendly formats, all in an updated modal.

Individual asset share now has a new dedicated **Share URL** option with a new viewer, as well as your existing embed and share URLs and links.

### Updated version control UI

Individual asset versions have an updated carousel UI, allowing you to view previous versions, switch versions, upload new versions, and delete versions.

### Related Assets section

Related Assets is a feature that helps you [quickly find similar assets](/acquia-dam/what-are-related-assets "What are related assets?"). Acquia DAM automatically tracks relevant information to help you locate just the right assets based on associations related to metadata, Product (Entries), and assets the user recently viewed.

### Asset Associations section

The Asset Associations panel displays information on when the asset is assigned or linked to a collection, an integration, a Portal, a product within the Entries application, or a Workflow project.

Exclusive AI tools in Asset Digest
----------------------------------

Asset Digest, when paired with the Redesigned Search experience, gives you exclusive access to new AI functionality in your Acquia DAM. Note that the following features can be activated in your DAM via **Admin > Global Settings > Features**.

### AI Tags

[AI Tags](/acquia-dam/how-use-ai-tags-acquia-dam "How to Use AI Tags in Acquia DAM?") automatically generate and apply keywords to your image assets upon upload. These individual tags are clickable from Asset Digest to bring you to a search of other assets with that AI Tag applied, and Redesigned Search has a dedicated filter for AI Tags. AI Tags work alongside the manually mentioned tags to give your assets baseline keywords to make content more searchable. When paired with Tags, this gives you a solid baseline of searchable information for your assets.

### AI Facial Recognition

With Facial Recognition, you can automatically [detect and group faces in images](/acquia-dam/how-does-facial-recognition-work-acquia-dam "How does facial recognition work in Acquia DAM?"). These faces can be tagged with specific names, which are editable and viewable within Asset Digest. Redesigned Search also has a dedicated filter to refine by specific names.

### AI Video Transcripts

Automatically generate a transcript of words spoken in a video asset. Transcript contents can be viewed in Asset Digest and are part of your search index, meaning transcript contents are searchable with your global search bar. Advanced Search also has a dedicated transcripts filter allowing you to search on transcripts specifically.

### AI Document Summaries

AI-powered [document summarization feature](/acquia-dam/ai-document-summaries-asset-digest "AI document summaries on Asset Digest") that generates a concise English-language summary of a document to help you understand its content without reading the full file.

### Video Creator

The [Video Creator app](/acquia-dam/what-video-creator-what-can-it-be-used "What is Video Creator? What can it be used for?") allows you to create and edit videos using DAM assets, then export those files back to DAM. Choose from many video templates and modify text, colors, fonts, images, music, and footage to make it your own, or build your content using pre-animated, editable clips. Alternatively, start from scratch and compose your video content based on your own DAM assets combined with royalty-free assets in the Video Creator libraries.

### Asset Insights

Asset Digest also allows you to view [individual asset analytics](/acquia-dam/what-data-can-i-see-asset-insights "What data can I see in asset insights?"). You can quickly see data about an individual asset, including how much the asset is being used, how it is being used, where it is being viewed, and who is engaging with it outside of your DAM.

Steps to enable Asset Digest
