Table of contents will be added

In the Asset Digest, you will find the preview of an asset, its metadata, and related assets. You can also see if the asset is included in any collections or portals, or if it is assigned to products in the Entries app. You can also track data, share, and download it.

Go to the Asset Digest by clicking an asset in search results, when selecting an asset from the activity feed, or when you are viewing assets in a collection.

Asset preview and Quick View
----------------------------

In the Asset Digest, you can also select the Expand preview icon to enlarge the asset on the page and make the asset information panel narrower.

Note that the Expand preview icon only displays on windows larger than 1440px in width.

![expand preview](https://acquia.widen.net/content/1bf5e52c-443e-460d-805c-1d89b17ea1c3/web/ka0Pb0000006rjB00N6g00000WDN1a0EMPb000002VCgT.png)

In this expanded preview, you can zoom in and out on images, scroll within documents, and play videos. Metadata in the asset information panel changes so that the metadata field title displays above values, instead of side by side. Select the Collapse preview icon to switch it back to the original page layout.

Click the Quick View icon on the asset to see a larger preview and to assess the asset’s visual quality. You can zoom in and out on an image or download the asset.

Filename
--------

If you have the edit metadata [permission](What-does-each-permission-mean), you can edit the asset’s filename. Hover over or tab to the filename at the top of the page. Click inside the gray bar and edit the filename. Save by clicking outside the box, pressing tab, or clicking the checkmark icon.

Asset actions
-------------

If you have permission, you will see several buttons below the asset preview.

![actions](https://acquia.widen.net/content/7995c714-94f1-4c43-ac7d-14aef6311e25/web/ka0Pb0000006rjB00N6g00000WDN1a0EMPb000004kYFh.png)

Users with the **Delete Assets** permission can delete assets through the three-dot menu. When an asset is deleted, it is moved to the **Pending Delete** queue in admin for review and final deletion. After they confirm deletion, users are returned to their search results page.

If you select **Share**, the [share modal](updated-share-experience) will display, giving you three share options: share link, embed code, and embed link. Selecting the Download button displays a modal with [format options for download](How-do-I-download-assets). When the [asset insights feature](/acquia-dam/what-are-asset-insights "What are asset insights?") is enabled, you can select **Insights** and view download, view, and share data about a single asset. To [archive the asset](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-archive-assets "How do I archive assets?"), select **Archive**.

Categories, tags, metadata, and security
----------------------------------------

Next to the asset preview are panels with information about the asset. By default, the Asset info panel displays first, but panels can be re-ordered by drag and drop. The order you choose will then be applied when you view other assets in the Asset Digest.

In the Asset info panel, you will find information about the asset. By clicking Details, you can view category, tags, metadata, and security. See the articles on [editing metadata and other asset details](How-do-I-edit-metadata-categories-and-asset-groups) and [adding tags](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-use-keyword-tags "How do I use keyword tags?").

In Details, you can choose to show empty metadata fields or hide them with a toggle near the top of the panel. This setting doesn't affect categories or security details – those will always display. If you change this setting, Asset Digest will remember your preference next time.

**File Info, Attached Documents, and Versions**

Select **File info** to see when the asset was added to Acquia DAM, the uploaded file format, the aspect ratio, and additional details.

Select **Attached documents** to see documents that were uploaded with or [added to the asset](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-attach-documents-assets "How do I attach documents to assets?"). This feature is updated: Users with appropriate permissions can now upload new attachments, add existing attachments, and remove attachments from the asset. Previously, users had view-only access.

Select **Versions** to [add a new version](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-create-asset-versions "How do I create asset versions?"), save another version as final, or delete a version.

Related assets
--------------

In the [Related assets](/acquia-dam/what-are-related-assets "What are related assets?") panel, explore assets that are related by metadata or by product or those you have recently viewed.

Asset associations
------------------

The Asset associations panel displays when the asset is assigned to a global or personal collection, portal, or Entries product.

For collections, the name of the collection, type of collection, and collection description are displayed. Click a collection name to see all assets in the collection. You can also [add or remove](/acquia-dam/how-do-i-create-collections "How do I create collections?") the asset you're viewing to or from collections.

For portals, the portal name, date the portal was created, and creator’s name are displayed. Portals are listed when the asset is in an assets section or collection in an assets section in a portal. If the asset is in a dynamic gallery, the portal name won’t be included. Click a portal name to see the portal in which the asset is included.

Integration Links enable your API integrations to register each time an asset is used. Each registration records the app name (the name of the API integration), a short description, and optionally the URL to a webpage of your choice that contains the asset, if applicable. This provides a self‑service way to track where each asset is referenced, making it easier to manage asset usage.

If you are using the Acquia DAM module for Drupal, integration links are automatically created or removed when assets are used or removed on your Drupal site.

For custom API integrations, registering integration links typically requires in‑house developer support. To register integration links, your API integration must call the Register Integration Link endpoint:
[API v1](https://docs.acquia.com/acquia-dam/api-v1#tag/Integration-Links/operation/createLink)

To remove an existing integration link, your integration must call the Remove Integration Link endpoint:
[API v1](https://docs.acquia.com/acquia-dam/api-v1#tag/Integration-Links/operation/removeLink)

If you have permission to access Entries, products that are associated with the asset will be displayed under Products. The product’s featured image, name, SKU, and product type are also listed. Select View details to see the product’s details in Entries.

![See where assets are associated - collections, portals, and with Entries products - from the Asset Digest.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/81927b4e-aff7-4d8b-8c4b-7e8dd05dab76/web/ka0Pb0000006rjB00N6g00000WDN1a0EM6g000005Lwif.png)

Opt out of the Asset Digest
---------------------------

The Asset Digest feature is automatically enabled in your site, but you can opt out of using it and instead use the [Asset Details page](/acquia-dam/where-can-i-see-asset-details "Where can I see asset details?").

Opt out of using the feature from the User preferences section of your user profile. You can modify your preferences and re-enable the Asset Digest at any time from the same location.

If you opt out of using the Asset Digest, you will see a Quick View icon on an asset thumbnails in search results, the activity feed, or when you are viewing a collection.
