The Sites Dashboard provides the option to configure password protection for sites to ensure security and privacy.

Use the following steps to configure password protection for a site.

1.  Log in to [Acquia Source](https://source.acquia.com/) to open the Sites Dashboard.
    
2.  On the **Sites** tab, locate the intended site.
3.  Click the title of the site.
4.  On the Site Overview page, locate the Site Access section.
5.  Select **Password Protected**.
6.  In the **Enter Password** field, enter a password for the site and click **Save**.
    
    On successful configuration, the site access badge is updated from **Public** to **Password Protected** and a confirmation message is displayed stating that the site is now password protected.
    
7.  Access the site to verify that you are prompted to enter the password for the site.
