Drupal Canvas provides a visual interface to help you create and customize pages for your site. Drupal Canvas pages follow a hierarchical structure.

The following table lists the hierarchy of a page:

Regions that are displayed across all pages of the site. For example, header and footer.

A single page that can include multiple components and structured fields. For example, title, meta description, and meta image.

Individual content elements placed within pages and global regions.

Creating a Drupal Canvas page
-----------------------------

Use the following steps to create a Drupal Canvas page:

1.  [Access your site](/node/69836#access-a-site).
    
2.  On the top right, click **Edit** to open Drupal Canvas.
3.  On the top center, click the page title to open the navigator.
4.  Click **New** > **New Page**.
    
    This creates a new blank draft page where you can add sections and components. This page can be published after it is ready.
    

Navigating between pages
------------------------

In the Drupal Canvas user interface, you can navigate between different pages of your site to view their published versions, make changes to them, and review the changes before publishing.

Use the following steps to navigate to an existing page on your site:

1.  In the Drupal Canvas user interface, click the page title to open the navigator.
2.  In the dropdown menu, locate the page that you want to navigate to and click its title.

Reviewing, previewing, and publishing a page

### Important considerations for selective publishing

*   Enable revisions for your content type if not already enabled.
*   When editing in a different workflow state than **Published**, your changes do not affect the live version until explicitly published.
*   Save changes as a draft to review before publishing to the production environment.
*   Use workflow states to control when and how content updates are published to your site.

### Revisions and their relationship to workflow

*   A revision is a saved version of your page.
*   Each time you publish, a new revision is created.
*   Previous revisions can be viewed and restored if needed.

### Content approvals and reviews

Drupal Canvas currently does not have a formal approval or review process. However, you can configure user permissions to allow a user to edit and create content without permitting them to publish it.
