After you create the [dynamic web content (DWC) that you want to use in emails](/campaign-studio/dynamic-web-content-emails "Dynamic web content for emails"), you can add the DWC to:

*   [Email subject line](#dwc-email-subject-line)
*   [Email body](#dwc-email-body)

Adding the DWC to email subject line
------------------------------------

1. Log in to Campaign Studio.
2. In the left navigation pane, click **Channels** > **Emails**.
3. Click **\+ New** to create a new email and select the email type.

    For more information, visit [Email basics](/campaign-studio/email-basics "Email basics").

4. In the email **Subject** field, do the following:
    1.   Create a default DWC token to ensure all users see appropriate content when they do not meet DWC criteria for emails.

        Important

        You must include a default text-based email subject line along with any other DWC tokens used in the email subject line.

        The default DWC token must follow the format:

        *   `{dwc=slot-name}Default content{/dwc}`

        * Enter the slot-name specified in the **Request Slot Name** field of the DWC.

        * The default content must appear between the opening and closing tags.

            For example, `{dwc=promo-banner}Check out our latest deals!{/dwc}`.

        * The DWC token must include the closing tag `{/dwc}`.

            An error message appears during the saving process if these configurations are not met.

    2. Add additional DWC by entering a curly bracket `{` and selecting the DWC that you want your contacts to see if they meet the criteria.

        You can add multiple DWC to the email subject line.

5. Click **Save** after you have configured the email.

    Campaign Studio displays the DWC slot in the email subject line for the contacts that meet the criteria.
