Campaign Studio supports themes to help you control the appearance of emails, landing pages, and forms. Campaign Studio provides the Themes page in **Settings** that serves as a single interface to store and manage themes for emails, landing pages, and forms. From this page, you can manage pre-built themes as well as user-created themes. Campaign Studio provides pre-built themes by default.

From this page, you can do the following:

*   [Install user-created themes](#install-theme)

*   [Delete user-created themes](#delete-theme)

*   [Preview pre-built and user-created themes](#preview-theme)

*   [Download pre-built and user-created themes](#download-theme)

*   [Hide or unhide pre-built themes](#hide-theme)

The Themes page displays the list of themes with the following details:

**Column**

**Description**

**Title**

The name or title of the theme.

**Author**

The name of the author or creator of the theme.

**Feature**

The list of features that the theme supports.

Themes in this list are displayed as selectable options in forms, and are available in the email and landing page builders where you can edit and customize them to meet your company’s needs. Email and landing page themes are built as templates within the email and landing page builders. For more information, see [Email builder](/campaign-studio/channels/emails/email-builder) and [Landing Pages](/campaign-studio/components/landing-pages). Also, the templates saved from the landing page and email builders appear in the list of themes on the Themes page.

Note

* Users can delete legacy themes from the list as they are no longer available to new Campaign Studio customers.

* Forms also offer CSS styling as an option to keep a consistent look and feel across your brand’s marketing materials.

Installing a theme
------------------

A new or edited theme must be installed as a zip package. The zip package must have the same structure as the preinstalled themes and the config.json file must be present in the root folder of the zip package.

Note

When creating the zip package you must select all files directly and zip them. Do not zip the folder with the files in it or the theme cannot be installed.

You can build and install your own forms theme using [TWIG](https://twig.symfony.com/) and you can also install BeeFree templates as themes.

To install a user-created theme:

1. Log in to Campaign Studio.

2.  Click the **Settings** icon.

3.  Click **Themes**.

4. On the Themes page, in the top-right corner, click **Choose file**.

5. Browse and select the theme.

6.  Click **Install**.

Deleting a theme
----------------

To delete a user-created theme:

1. Log in to Campaign Studio.

2.  Click the **Settings** icon.

3.  Click **Themes**.

4. On the Themes page, locate the theme that you want to delete.

5. Select the dropdown before the theme, and click **Delete**.

6. In the confirmation dialog box, click **Delete**.

4. On the Themes page, locate the theme that you want to preview.

5. Select the dropdown before the theme, and click **Preview**.

    Campaign Studio displays the preview of the theme.

Downloading a theme
-------------------

To download a theme:

1. Log in to Campaign Studio.

2.  Click the **Settings** icon.

3.  Click **Themes**.

4. On the Themes page, locate the theme that you want to download.

5. Select the dropdown before the theme, and click **Download**.

    The theme is downloaded to your local machine where it can be modified following the structure outlined in [developer documentation](https://developer.mautic.org/#theme-directory-structure) before being reinstalled for use in your instance.

Hiding or unhiding a theme
--------------------------

In Campaign Studio, you can hide or unhide a pre-built theme. A hidden theme is not displayed in the email or landing page templates lists.

To hide or unhide a theme:

1. Log in to Campaign Studio.

2.  Click the **Settings** icon.

3.  Click **Themes**.

4. On the Themes page, locate the theme that you want to hide or unhide.

5. Do one of the following:

    *   To hide a theme:

        1. Select the dropdown before the theme and click **Hide**.

        2. On the confirmation dialog box, click **Hide**.

            The system displays a notification confirming that the visibility of the theme is changed. The row for the hidden theme is moved to the bottom of the list and the theme is grayed out.

    *   To unhide a theme:

        1. Select the dropdown before the grayed out theme and click **Unhide**.

        2. On the confirmation dialog box, click **Unhide**.

            The theme’s color is restored and the row for the theme is displayed in the original order in the list. The restored theme is displayed in the email and landing page templates lists again.

Assigning a default theme
-------------------------

You can assign your Campaign Studio instance a default theme for landing pages. Then use the landing page builder to fill in the content for each new landing page you create.

Note

Changing the theme after building the page may cause content to not display if the two themes do not use the same placeholders.

To assign a default theme:

1. Log in to Campaign Studio.

2.  Click the **Settings** icon.

3.  Click **Configuration**.

4.  Click **Theme Settings**.

5. From the dropdown menu, select the theme that you want to use as default.

6.  Click **Save & Close**.
