This document helps you through the steps to set up the Acquia SFMC-CDP integration. You can configure the security settings, create a user API account, and properly assign roles and permissions to enable the Acquia SFMC-CDP integration. If you have any additional questions, contact your IC or MCC.

Prerequisites
-------------

Before you begin, ensure that you have the following:

*   Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) setup and administration permissions.
    
*   Acquia email alias for the integration, such as `[Addclientname]API@acquia.com`.
    

The following is the procedure to setup the Acquia SFMC - CDP Integration

Step 1: Configure platform security settings
--------------------------------------------

1.  Navigate to **Setup**.
2.  On the left navigation, select **Settings** and click **Security**.
3.  In the **Security** list, click **Security Settings**.
4.  Locate **Enable Username and Password for Web Services** and change the value from **NO** to **YES**.
5.  Click **Save**.

Step 2: Create the API user account
-----------------------------------

1.  In **Setup**, navigate to **Administration** > **Users**.
2.  In the list, click **Users** .
3.  Click **Create** .
4.  Enter the following user details:
    *   **Name**: `AcquiaAPI_[Addclientname]` (follow the structure by starting with **Acquia**, followed by **API\_** and the **client name**).
    *   **Reply Email Address**: Use the Acquia email alias , such as `[Addclientname]API@acquia.com`)
    *   Click **Verify** to confirm the email address.
    *   Ensure the **Add to from name** list is empty
    *   **Notification Email Address**: Enter the Acquia email alias. For example,`[Addclientname]API@acquia.com`).
    *   **Username**: Use the name `AcquiaAPI_[Addclientname]`.
    *   Ensure the **External Key** field is empty
    *   **Time zone**: Select **GMT - 05:00 EST (US & Canada)**
    *   **Culture Code**: EN
    *   Select **API User**
    *   Create a password and update the client key information document

Step 3: Assign Roles and Permissions to the User API
----------------------------------------------------

1.  In **Setup**, navigate to **Administration** > **Users**.
2.  In the list, click **Users** .
3.  Select `AcquiaAPI_[Addclientname]`.
4.  Click **Manage Role**.
5.  In the **Manage Roles** section, click **Edit Roles**.
6.  Select the **Administrator** and **Marketing Cloud Administrator** roles and click **Save**.

Step 4: Configure Marketing Cloud FTP Permissions
-------------------------------------------------

1.  In **Setup**, navigate to **Data Management** > **FTP Accounts**.
2.  Depending on the scenario, follow the appropriate steps:
    *   **Existing FTP user**: Ensure the user status is **Enabled** and permissions are set to **Full** to allow reading and writing data from the SFMC SFTP. If the email address is not the Acquia email alias, you must update it.
    *   **No FTP user**: Click **Add FTP User**. Enter the Acquia email alias, create a password, and ensure User Permissions are set to **Full**.

Note

For UI users, create a separate account following the same steps but only assign the Marketing Cloud Administrator role.
