This page provides information about how to use the Events in Metrics feature for the following scenario:

Customers want to analyze event data from the last 7 days for the US customers with the product name, _7up Diet_.

Customers can use the outlined steps to navigate the interface and refine their data strategies. Customers can create custom dashboards using event counts and distributions, select attributes and set time ranges with preset configurations, and apply insights to operations or campaign strategies.

Analyzing data using the Events in Metrics feature

To analyze event data:

1.  [Sign in to the CDP user interface](/customer-data-platform/getting-started/signin-cdp).
2.  Navigate to **Analytics** **\>** **Metrics**. 
    
3.  Click the **Event Overview** dashboard.
    
    The system opens the dashboard and displays a detailed description of the feature and provides insights.
    
4.  In **Events Type Distribution**, click the menu and select **Explore from here**.
    
    Expand **Event** to access _Child Customer Count_ and _Event Count_ listed added as measures.
    
5.  In the **Filters** area, set **Event Date Range** as  `is` `in last 7 days`.
    
6.  Click **+Filter**.
    
7.  Expand **Customer > Address > Customer Country**.
    
8.  Set **Customer Country** as  `is` `US`.
    
9.  Click **+Filter**.
    
10.  Expand **Product > Product Name**.
     
11.  Set **Product Name** as  `is` `7up Diet`.
     
12.  Click **Run**.
     
     The system displays the event count associated with the filters.
