Introduction
------------

This document provides instructions on how to do an external single-page scan.

Instructions
------------

This section provides instructions on how to do a scan on pages that are not included in your subscription.

1. Open the web browser extension on the webpage that you want to do a scan on. On a page that is not covered by your subscription, the normal selection for content issues (bug icon) is not available and is replaced by "Page not found".

![The location of the Page Not Found button on the web browser extension toolbar.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/1011dfe5-972a-4819-9ac5-04701c9117be/web/Mon_Opt_WebBrowserExtension-PageNotFound.png?h=720&itok=cuQYaDkk)

2. Click **Single-page scan** (icon of recycling arrows) in the extension toolbar.

![The location of the Scan This Page option on a page from a domain that is not covered by the subscription.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/168200ae-8d59-413b-b5b3-8f5310687582/web/Mon_Opt_WebBrowserExtension-SinglePageScanButton.png)

3. The _Single-Page Scan List_ pane opens.
4. Click **Scan this page**.

    Note

The web browser extension does not perform the scan, it is done by Web Governance.

5. The message “Scanning current page (URL)” shows, and the icon spins until the scan is complete.
6. The scan results appear in the _Single-Page Scan_ list with the following information:
    * The date and time of the scan.
    * Scan results for the following modules:

The results of single-page scans on external pages are not saved in the Web Governance database and cannot be marked as "fixed." The counters that display these scan results are not live and are only updated after each new scan.
