**Can I mark 403 errors as broken links in** **Web Governance****?**
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes.

Links on pages that return error 403 (forbidden errors) can be classified as broken with this option in **Admin Settings**. Only admin users can change this setting.

1. Click **Admin** **Settings** (the gear icon) on the top menu bar.

![The location of the Admin Settings button on the main menu bar.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/5jjkxxc4ps/web/WebGov_MainToolbar-AdminSettingsButton.png?v=44dfb321-2b2f-48da-8d3d-d42d738df888)

    The _Admin Settings_ page opens.

2. Click **Action** on the same row as a domain.

![The location of the Action button and the expanded list of options, on the same row as a domain.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/2awm1ut1yx/web/WebGov_DomainOverview-ActionButtonAndMenu.png?v=5721cbb7-fb99-405b-af36-756fe71843bb)

    A drop-down list expands.

3. Select **Edit Domain**.
4. Locate the _Crawl Options_ section.
5. Toggle the **Mark 403 as broken link** switch **ON**.

![The location of the Mark 403 as Broken Link button in the Crawl Options section on the Edit Domain page.](https://acquia.widen.net/content/6m2mmmlz3t/web/Mon_Opt_AdminSettings-EditDomain-CrawlOptions-Mark403AsBrokenLink.png?v=76913f92-3923-42e2-9af6-5f19e56a63fb)

This causes the scan to flag any link that returns this error with the status _Broken Link_. The changes come into affect after a new domain scan is done.
