As with the full Acquia Web Governance scan, the crawler follows these steps:

1.  During setup, you add a URL into the Web Governance application, for example [acquia.com](http://acquia.com/ "http://acquia.com/")
    
2.  The Web Governance web crawler starts the scan on the URL [acquia.com](http://acquia.com/ "http://acquia.com/")
    
3.  The crawler looks for all unique, internal links on the page. 
    
4.  It starts the top of the page and continues to scan every page. 
    
5.  Web Governance Starter continues in this way until it has scanned 500 unique, internal URLs.
