Introduction
------------

The goal of Acquia Web Governance Content Policies is to allow website admins to set custom policies and rules for the scan to flag. The results from the scan are communicated with reports and alerts. Admins can then use the scan results to identify and repair issues that do not meet the policy requirements. This ensures that all content submitted by website content creators follows the same guidelines to help you keep your content up-to-date and correct.

Web Governance Policies include Global Policies and Content Policies. Web Governance offers a large collection of pre-made policies, as well as the option to create custom policies.

This document provides an introduction to the Policies user documentation collection. Use the left navigation toolbar for documentation on the features of this module.

Note

*   Policies rules use Ruby regex to match content on HTML pages.
*   Policies do not have source code exclusions.

Setup
-----

Only Admin users can create policies for the scan to flag. To add a new policy, contact your local Web Governance admin. 

Global Policies
---------------

Set custom policies and rules for the scan to flag across all of your domains. The results from the scan are communicated with reports and alerts. Admins can then use the scan results to identify and repair issues that do not meet the policy requirements. This ensures that all content submitted by website content creators follows the same guidelines to help you keep your content up-to-date and correct. ### Navigation

1.  Log in to your Web Governance account.
2.  Click **Global Policies** on the main toolbar.

Use the menu on the left to browse through the documentation.

Content Policies
----------------

Content Policies provide a conformance overview and a tool for policy management. Use this module to monitor policy conformance across domains, identify violation count, and track the overall pass rate.

The Content Policies module includes a large collection of pre-made policies, as well as the option to create custom policies.

Note

*   Content Policies rules use Ruby regex to match content on HTML pages.
*   You cannot exclude specific HTML from policies with source code exclusions.

### Content Policies Navigation

1.  Log in to your Web Governance account.
2.  Select the domain that you want to work with.
3.  Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
4.  Click **Content Quality** to expand the menu.
5.  Click **Content Policies** to expand the sub-menu.

Select an option. The sub-modules are:

*   **Summary**: This is the Content Policies landing page.
*   **Issues by Page**: This view presents policy issues per page.
*   **Policies List**: This view presents a list of all current policies available for the domain.
*   **Pages with Ignored Policies**: This view presents a list of policies that the scan ignores on the specific page.

Use the menu on the left to browse through the documentation for each of the sub-modules.
