Introduction
------------

Acquia Web Governance Policies helps you set custom policies and rules for the scan to flag. The results from the scan are communicated with reports and alerts. Use the scan results to identify and repair issues that do not meet the policy requirements. This ensures that all content submitted by website content creators follows the same guidelines to helps you keep your content up-to-date and correct.

Web Governance Policies includes a large collection of pre-made policies, as well as the option to create custom policies.

This collection of guides contains step-by-step instructions on how to set up pre-made and custom policies as well as detailed information about the available pre-made policies.

Policies dashboard
------------------

This section provides information about the Policies dashboard. Select Global Policies (a mallet icon) from the main Web Governance toolbar.

The dashboard contains the following sections:

*   Priorities and Policy Distribution: This section displays a bar chart to represent the number of policies with matches across priority levels against the Policy distirbution that shows the distribution of policies that match their corresponding setting.
*   Policy distribution: Displays the policy priorities low, medium, and high, as measured against the type of policy: unwanted, required, and matches.
*   Policies with most matches: A list of policies that have the most matches.

Policies score
--------------

This section provides details about how the scores for the Policies feature are calculated.

1.  Start with a base of 100.
2.  Calculate the number of links or pages with errors, divided by the total number of links or pages, multiplied by 100.
3.  For example:  
    ​`12 / 14` (gives 0.8571428571428571) `* 100`.

When the policy score is shown in a Policy Compliance percentage, it represents the average taken from the compliance percentage of each policy that is applied for the domain.

This section provides information about the different Policies reports that are available.

The available reports for the Policies feature are:

*   Policy Overview Report
*   List of all Policies Report
*   List Policies with Type: Matches Report
*   List Policies with Type: Unwanted Report
*   List Policies with Type: Required Report.
