**Add a word to the Dictionary**
--------------------------------

This section provides instructions on how to add a word to the Account Dictionary.

1. Click **Action** from the _Account Dictionary_.
2. Click the drop-down arrow on the same row as a potential misspelling and select the action to perform for this word.
    * **Add to dictionary**: Approve this spelling and add it to the language dictionary so that future scans do not flag it as misspelled. This action is case-sensitive by default.
    * **Add to dictionary for all languages**: Approve this spelling (product names, for example) and add it to the language dictionary for all languages so that future scans will not flag it as misspelled. This action is case-sensitive by default.

Important

! The dictionary will not distinguish between capitalized and non-capitalized words if the option _Ignore Capitalized Words_ is turned on.

**Edit a word in the Dictionary**
---------------------------------

It is not possible to edit a word from within the Dictionary. It can be done, however.

1. Follow the steps in this guide to remove the word from the dictionary.
2. On the website, ensure that the correct spelling is present within the html code in at least one location. Make a note of the location.
3. Scan the website. Both instances of the word are caught by the scan and appear in the _Misspelled Words_ section.
4. Follow the steps in this article to select the correct word and then add it to the dictionary.
5. If needed, follow the steps in this document for how to use PageCorrect to do a search-and-replace throughout the website. Note that changes made with PageCorrect are superficial and should be reported to the proper team to fix within the original source material.

---------------------------------

This section provides instructions on how to remove a word from the Account Dictionary.

From the **Account Dictionary** page:

1. Locate the word to remove.

    * A dialog opens, asking "Are you sure you want to remove the word **\*word\*** from the dictionary?"

4. The word is removed from the dictionary and after the next scan it will show up in the Misspelled Words or Potentially Misspelled Words list, if applicable.

------------------------

Notes

1. The Spellcheck feature scans for misspelled words in the primary language of the page by default. In the case that the page language is something other than the primary language of the domain, words can be marked as potential misspellings if they are not found in the dictionary even if they are correctly spelled in the language of origin. Turn on the **Use Language Attribute** function in domain configuration to avoid this.
2. If the Web Governance subscription ends, the error will still be present in the website HTML. It is recommended to assign a web developer to fix the issue within the HTML code. Make a note of the location(s) of the broken link or other error and send it to the appropriate team for a permanent fix.
