Introduction
------------

Uptime Monitoring (previously Heartbeat) Checkpoints are the domain pages that you want to use to track your URL uptime and loading time.

How to add a check
------------------

1.  Log in to your Web Governance account.
2.  Select the domain that you want to work with.
3.  Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
4.  Click **Site Performance**.
5.  Select **Uptime Monitoring**.
6.  Click **\+ Add new check** to track a new URL.
7.  Acknowledge the alert about server load and host costs.
8.  Fill out the **Checkpoint form** with the following:
    *   **Status**: Toggle On to instruct the system to check the current status of the page.
    *   **URL**: Enter the full URL (include protocol).   
        _Tip!_ For best results, use Uptime Monitoring on your Homepage only.
    *   **Ping intervals**: Use the dropdown to select the ping frequency. Choose 1 minute or 5 minutes.
    *   **Response time notification**: Toggle ON to receive email notifications of slow website response times.
    *   **Downtime notification**: Toggle ON to receive email notifications of website downtime.
9.  Save the form.

How to edit a check
-------------------

1.  Log in to your Web Governance account.
2.  Select the domain that you want to work with.
3.  Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
4.  Click **Site Performance**.
5.  Select **Uptime Monitoring**.
6.  On the same row as the check that you want to edit, click **Action**.
7.  Select **Edit**.
8.  Edit the Checkpoint form fields as needed:
    *   **Status**: Toggle On or Off.
    *   **UR**L: Edit the URL (include protocol). 
    *   **Ping intervals**: Use the dropdown to edit the ping frequency. Choose 1 minute or 5 minutes.
    *   **Response time notification**: Toggle ON or Off to receive email notifications of slow website response times.
    *   **Downtime notification**: Toggle ON or Off to receive email notifications of website downtime.
9.  Save the changes.

How to delete a check
---------------------

1.  Log in to your Web Governance account.
2.  Select the domain that you want to work with.
3.  Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
4.  Click **Site Performance**.
5.  Select **Uptime Monitoring**.
6.  On the same row as the check that you want to delete, click **Action**.
7.  Select **Remove Checkpoint** to delete it.
8.  Save the changes.
