End of Life Cloud UI integration for Acquia Migrate: Accelerate in favor of open source version

On 10 April 2024, Acquia will gradually remove the Acquia Migrate: Accelerate (AM:A) tool from the Cloud Platform user interface. Acquia recommends using the open source version available on Drupal.org. Acquia released AM:A as open source to ensure that the broader Drupal Community has a free and easy to use tool to aid in migrations from Drupal 7.x to modern versions of Drupal ahead of the Drupal 7 EOL in 2025.

Why should I switch to the open source version of Acquia Migrate: Accelerate?

By releasing AM:A as open source, Acquia has made it possible for everyone in the broader Drupal community to benefit from the AM:A tool with their migration from Drupal 7.x to newer Drupal versions. As an open source module, AM:A will now benefit from contributions by the entire community to improve its functionality. An open source version of AM:A also gives you significantly more control over the environment conditions in which you run your migrations and operate AM:A (e.g. more customizable factors such as memory, storage, etc.). Therefore, the open source version of AM:A will provide users an improved experience to the proprietary AM:A tooling within the Cloud UI.

What should I do if I am currently using Acquia Migrate: Accelerate (AM:A) in the Cloud UI?

If you are currently using AM:A to migrate off of Drupal 7.x to newer Drupal versions, we recommend you complete your migration using the Acquia maintained tool in the Cloud UI prior to 10 April 2024. If your migration will not be completed before 10 April 2024, we recommend switching to the open source version of AM:A before continuing your migration. If you want to continue using AM:A in the Cloud UI after 10 April 2024, please contact your Acquia account manager.

I haven’t started my migration from Drupal 7.x to 9.x yet, which tool should I use?

By making Acquia Migrate: Accelerate (AM:A) open source, Acquia has allowed the Drupal Community to assist in maintaining and improving the tool. If you have not yet begun your migration and you plan to use AM:A, we recommend using the open source Drupal version as it is the most up to date version of the module thanks to Drupal community contributors.

How do I access the open source Drupal version of AM:A?

Using AM:A to migrate from Drupal 7.x to 9.x is as simple as installing the module and following the integrated instructions. You can read more about the module, its UI, user recommendations, and troubleshooting at Dev.Acquia.com. To install the module, please visit Drupal.org.
