In Cloud Platform, an application is a software product that implements a web service, such as a Drupal-based website or a web-accessible API. Application specifically refers to the software product as an entity in itself, separate from the potentially many installations of the application in different environments (like Production or Dev) that may use specific domain names, with specific content. Applications have a lifecycle and typically have multiple versions. You cannot create applications in Cloud Platform. In Multi-Experience Operations, you can use the self-service capabilities in Cloud Platform to create new experiences. You can create new applications from existing codebases. With this flexibility, you can quickly respond to business needs and launch new digital experiences without needing to contact your Acquia account managers.
To create an application in a organization, you must be an administrator in the organization.
By default, the applications that you create have the following environments:
To create an application:
Select a specific codebase to add an application.
In Applications, click Add Application.
This displays the Add Application page.
Click Next.
The system displays the application name, subscription region, name of the subscription, and the associated codebase.
