Features
The following table lists the key features that Acquia Search provides to your website:
Feature | Description |
---|---|
Solr search as a service | Acquia Search is an easy to configure Solr search service letting you deliver flexible Drupal website search capabilities in minutes. |
Faster searches | Your visitors can find what they are looking for faster than using Drupal’s built-in search. Acquia Search has delivered searches with a 60% to 500% improvement in response time compared to the built-in search. |
High availability | Acquia’s Solr search infrastructure ensures consistent availability of your website’s search index. |
Secure connectivity | Acquia has implemented an HMAC authentication mechanism for Acquia Search limiting access to an index to only authorized sites. All data transmits through SSL if the client server supports it. Acquia Search also respects Drupal node access controls, enabling search content limited to authorized visitors. |
Multi-entity and attachment searches | Visitors can search through multiple types of content—not only content nodes, but also users, taxonomy terms, or your own custom entity types. Search also can include the contents of files attached to your websites. |
Better knowledge of the data structure | Acquia Search systematically understands when content changes, and updates the index which means updating your index requires one small change, instead of waiting for a crawler to check your entire website for changes. Better knowledge of the data structure also means the index can contain metadata not visible to crawlers. |
