How language support works

When a language is added and configured in the SearchStax dashboard, SearchStax uses language-specific field types — including dictionaries, analyzers, and stemmers — to deliver optimised search results for that language.

If a language is configured in Drupal but not yet added to the SearchStax application, SearchStax falls back to default text field processing. In this state, content is still indexed and fully searchable, but language-specific optimisations (such as stemming and stop words) are not applied.

During or after migrating from Drupal Search to Acquia Search powered by SearchStax, you may see the following warning in Drupal logs or on the Search API status page:
