Fix Views (with a Views Reference Field) From Disappearing Randomly

If the following are true:

• The contents of a view disappear randomly
• The view is inside of a node or a block
• And you're using the Views Reference module

Try the following:

• For a node, change the display type.
  • Visit Administer, Structure, Content Types
  • For the content type with the Views Reference Field, in the dropdown, click "Manage display"
  • For the Views Reference field, select "Views reference (lazy builder)"
    • The screen you do that at looks something like this:
      
• If it's a block:
  • Click Administer, Structure, Block types
  • For the block type with the problem, in the dropdown, click "Manage display".
  • You should see a screen like the one above. Make the same settings change.
