Updating your DNS to Acquia Migrate domains

As part of our ongoing platform improvements, there are a number of migration efforts that may require updates to your DNS entries.

Customers with applications using ELBs must update their DNS prior to their platform improvement maintenance window. Failure to do so will result in unanticipated downtime for your application. If updating your DNS is required, you will receive a Support ticket instructing you to do so.

When prompted to do so, DNS entries should be updated as soon as possible to ensure you are ready in advance for your maintenance window.

To update your DNS, login to your subscription through the Acquia Cloud user interface. Once you have logged in, select your application, then your production environment.

Click on the "Domains" tab on the left side, as shown below:

Listed under your domains, you will see a new domain available:

<sitename>.migrate.acquia.com

This is the address that you should re-point your DNS to in order to ensure your application remains available during your application's technology refresh maintenance window.

Only DNS entries currently pointing to your ELB need to be updated. A records pointing to your elastic IP address do not need to be updated. If your ELB is no longer required, you can contact Acquia Support to remove it.

For additional instructions on setting your DNS, visit our article, DNS settings with an Elastic Load Balancer.
