Planning for success

Acquia has identified that successful Content Hub implementations have alignment across the project team and organization. Acquia suggests that you identify personnel for the following roles:

  • Executive Sponsor: Provides the vision and acts as the primary stakeholder for the success of the Content Hub implementation.
  • Project Manager: Facilitates and tracks the progress of the implementation, and acts as the primary point of contact.
  • Content Hub Administrator: Takes the responsibility of:
    • All Content Hub administrative duties including adding sites and configuration, and defining permissions,
    • Moderation workflows, and
    • Other business requirements.
  • Content Hub Developer: Takes the responsibility of:
    • Content architecture,
    • Technical integration including Drupal module installation and configuration, and
    • Integration with non-Acquia third-party enterprise applications.
  • Content Hub Content Author: Manages existing and new content on sites.

Customer preparation

The Content Hub onboarding is effective if you:

  • Have defined syndication use cases: Ensure that you have at least one clearly defined, basic use case for syndication. The details must include publishing website, subscribing website(s), and frequency and volume of content updates.
  • Have website and business goals for syndication: Ensure that you identify the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that you want to impact by enabling content syndication.
  • Have content for syndication use cases: If the content for syndication is not readily available, resources and processes must be identified to produce content in accordance with the project schedule. You must have a vision of your content architecture, including types of Drupal entities, their embedded dependencies, and third-party Drupal and non-Drupal integrations.
  • Have Drupal skills: Having working knowledge of Drupal is necessary for success with Content Hub.
  • Understand the development and deployment workflows: You can describe and document your standard development and deployment workflows, including the use of other Acquia portfolio product features such as Cloud Platform user interface as part of the workflow.
  • Are availability to work with Content Hub: Successful Content Hub onboarding requires stakeholders to commit to the self-paced online training, and if purchased, the Content Hub Quick Start sessions.

Onboarding success checklist

Complete the following checklist as you navigate your onboarding:

  • Install the required modules on your site to enable Content Hub.
  • Configure the Content Hub module user permissions to administer and use the service, and then use the Drupal admin interface to configure them to connect your website to the Content Hub service.
