There are several ways to locate and repair misspellings and potentially misspelled words. This article provides instructions on each of the methods.

How to mark a misspelling as fixed with Content Quality
Log in to your Web Governance account.
Select the domain that you want to work with.
Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
Click Content Quality.
Click Misspellings.
Select Misspellings.
How to handle misspellings
Introduction

How to mark a misspelling as fixed with Content Quality
Log in to your Web Governance account.
Select the domain that you want to work with.
Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
Click Content Quality.
Click Misspellings.
Select Misspellings.
Click Action on the same row as the misspelling.
Select Mark as fixed and click Ok on the confirmation prompt.
When to mark a misspelling as fixed
Use this option to signal to your colleagues that the issue has been resolved. Use this option:
If you want for the word to be included in subsequent scans. If the error returns, it will appear again in the misspellings list after the next scan.
If the misspelling is actually fixed by the web team on the HTML code of the webpage.
If the error is confirmed to be a temporary known issue, for example, in an unpublished state.
Issues that you mark as Fixed are still included in future scans and can be flagged again if the error persists.
How to mark a misspelling as ignored
Log in to your Web Governance account.
Select the domain that you want to work with.
Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
Click Content Quality.
Click Misspellings.
Select Misspellings or Potential Misspellings.
Click Action on the same row as the misspelled word.
Select Ignore misspelling. This instructs the scan to ignore this misspelled word in future scans.
When to mark a misspelling as ignored
Use this option:
For words such as proper nouns that are marked as misspellings when they are not.
If you need to ignore spelling issues on a single-page basis.
Note
Ignored issues are not acknowledged by future scans. This permanently affects the compliance score, and can damage the score if the word is an actual misspelling.
How to repair a misspelling with PageCorrect
Log in to your Web Governance account.
Select the domain that you want to work with.
Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
Click Content Quality.
Click Misspellings.
Select Misspellings.
Click PageCorrect on the same row as the misspelled word.
In the dialog box, insert the correct spelling of the word and then click Save.
Make a note of the word and the location on the page and instruct the web team to fix the word in the HTML code for the page.
Important
PageCorrect shows your corrections to visitors. However, you must also correct the issue in the page code to make the change permanent.
How to repair a misspelling with Prioritized Pages
This section provides steps to handle a misspelled word from the Prioritized Pages view.
Log in to your Web Governance account.
Select the domain that you want to work with.
Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
Click Prioritized Pages.
Above the list, select a filter if needed.

Click the number in the Notifications field, on the same row as a domain. The number on the button indicates how many issues are on the page. The list of notifications expands.
Click to select Misspellings in the expanded dialog.
Click Action on the same row as a misspelled word.

Add to dictionary for all languages
Ignore misspelling
Mark as fixed
How to repair a misspelling with the Web Browser Extension
Find misspelled words and their location on the page.
Open the website and start the Web Browser Extension.
Click to select Content Issues (insect icon) on the web browser extension toolbar.
Select Content Quality to expand the menu further.
Click See Issues in the Misspellings / Potential Misspellings section.
Misspelled words are listed as either Confirmed misspelling or Potential misspelling.
Use the buttons under the misspelling to:
Add word to dictionary: Add the word to the dictionary so that it will not be flagged as a misspelling in future scans.
Mark as fixed: Marks the misspelling as fixed. It will be included in subsequent scans and if the error returns, it will appear again in the misspelled words list. Select this option when the error is actually fixed by the web team on the HTML code of the webpage, or if it is a temporary (for example, in an unpublished state) known issue.
Mark as ignored: Ignore the misspelling. Use this option if you know the word is, in fact, OK (for example, a proper noun). Ignored misspellings are not included in subsequent scans and will not show up as misspelled words.
View HTML: Opens the HTML section and highlights the location of the misspelling.
Highlight on the page: Highlights the misspelled word on the page.
Select the misspelled word for the option to look it up in Google.
Expand the left menu bar if the options are not visible.
Click Content Quality to expand the menu.
Click Misspellings.
Select Ignored Misspellings.
On the same row as a misspelling in the list, select Unignore Misspelling.
How to add a word to the Dictionary
Use this option to add a word that the scan consistently flags as a misspelling, but which is acceptable for your organization. For more information, read How to add, edit, and delete Dictionary words.
