Managing search indexes
Before using Acquia Search, you must create a Solr index for your Drupal
application. Follow these steps to create and manage your indexes through the
Acquia platform administration interface.
Create a Solr 7 index
Navigate to the desired Cloud Platform environment.
Select the Search option in the left navigation pane.
Select Add Search Index.
Select the database for which you want to create the index.
Based on your version of Drupal, select the default Solr configset that you
want to apply, or apply a custom configset through the Configuration Set option.
- Drupal 9 or later: Select the (Latest) Drupal 9 - Search API Solr 4.2.0 - Solr 7 - [drupal-4.2.0-solr-7.x-0] - v1.0 configset
- Drupal 7: Select the (Latest) Drupal 7 - Search API Solr 4.4 - Solr 7 - [drupal-4.4-solr-7.x] v1.0 configset
Note
- You can use the Acquia-provided (Latest) Drupal 7 - Search API Solr 4.4 - Solr 7 - [drupal-4.4-solr-7.x] - v1.0 configset for
Drupal 7 with both the Search API module and Apache Solr Search Integration module ecosystems.
- These are the default Solr configsets, which are meant for single-language sites and optimized for English. If you need support for
other languages or Solr configurations, apply a custom configset.
Select Add to create the index.
It may take Acquia Search several minutes to create the index for you.
Delete a Solr 7 index
- Navigate to the desired environment.
- Select the Search option in the left navigation pane.
- Find the index you want to delete and select the Delete index action.
- Confirm that you want to delete the index by entering CONFIRM where
prompted.
- Select Delete to delete the index.
