This section provides instructions about how to create and publish a landing page.
These instructions are not limited to landing pages and are also applicable to other types of pages.
Use the following steps to access a site:
Log in to Acquia Sites Dashboard.
Locate the site that you want to access.
Complete your authentication to the CMS site if you are not authenticated already.
Click Edit Site.
The system displays the homepage of the site in a new tab.
Start by creating a landing page to familiarize yourself with Experience Builder, which is the visual page-building tool of Acquia Source powered by Drupal. A landing page is a standalone page where you choose the layout and build the content visually.
Use the following steps to create a landing page in your website:
On the top right, click Edit.
The system displays the Experience Builder user interface.
On the top center, click the page title to open the navigator.
The navigator helps you to navigate between pages within Experience Builder.
Click New > New Page.
The system creates a new blank draft page where you can add sections and components. This page can be published after it is ready.
After the draft landing page is created, add it to a menu to ensure easy navigation and accessibility for site visitors.
Use the following steps to add the landing page to a menu:
Select the menu where you want to add the link. For example, main navigation.
The system displays the Edit menu page.
For more information, visit Menus.
On the top right, click Add link.
The system displays the Add menu link page.
Click Save.
The system displays the Edit menu page with the newly-added menu link.
Each page built with Experience Builder consists of a set of components. To add components to a page, you can use a set of default components provided by Acquia Source and can also create custom ones.
Use the following steps to add components to the landing page:
On the top right, click Edit.
The system displays the Experience Builder user interface.
In the toolbar on the left, click the Add (+) icon.
The system displays the Library panel in the left sidebar with a list of existing components and patterns.
Configure the settings (props) of the component in the right sidebar.
These changes are not published until you choose to publish the page.
The changes that you make in the landing page through Experience Builder are saved in a temporary workspace. After you add the required components to the page, you can publish it.
Use the following steps to check the preview of the page, review the changes, and publish the page:
On the top right of Experience Builder, click Preview to preview how the page would look to a site visitor, without the Experience Builder interface.
The system displays a holistic view of the site showing all the pages with published changes. Any unpublished changes made to a page are indicated by a Changed publishing status mentioned next to the page title.
The following are the available preview options for different devices:
Full
Desktop
Tablet
Mobile
On the top right of Experience Builder, click Review changes to review the changes that are staged to be published.
The system displays the Unpublished changes dialog box showing all unpublished changes with their details such as the page title, the users' email ID, and the time of change.
Review the publishing status indicator mentioned next to the page title:
Draft: Indicates that the page is not published.
Published: Indicates that the page is live with no pending changes.
Changed: Indicates that the page is published but has pending changes.
After the changes are published, the publishing status indicator mentioned next to the page title changes from Changed to Published.
The current workflow state of the page is displayed in the top right corner. If you have the necessary permissions, you can modify the workflow state using the menu next to the Save button before publishing.
Click the appropriate option to publish either specific changes or all changes.
