Organizing many applications with bulk tagging

Cloud Platform allows users with the Owner or Administrator roles in the Cloud Platform user interface to tag applications in bulk. Bulk application tagging enables you to manage many applications’ tags simultaneously with the Tag Manager.

Note

Users with the Administrator and Team Lead roles have permission to add and remove tags from individual applications in the Cloud Platform user interface.

Bulk adding tags to many applications

For information on adding application tags one at a time, see Adding tags to a single application.

To bulk add a tag to many applications, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to Cloud Platform as a user with the Owner or Administrator role.

  2. In the top menu, click Develop.

  3. Click Tag Manager.

    Cloud Platform displays the Tag Manager in a modal window.

  4. Under Select an organization, select the organization containing the applications you want to tag.

  5. Under Select applications, select the applications you want to tag.

  6. Under Manage Tags, click Add Tag.

  7. Provide a tag label that meets the labeling requirements, and then select a color for the tag.

  8. Click Ok to display the tag under Tags to add, as displayed in the following example:

  9. Click Review if you are happy with the tag, or click the X on the tag to remove it.

    Cloud Platform displays the Add / Remove Confirmation screen describing your proposed changes.

  10. Click Save to save your changes.

Cloud Platform applies the new tags to the applications you selected.

Bulk removing tags from many applications

For information on removing application tags one at a time, see Removing tags from a single application.

To bulk remove a tag from many applications, complete the following steps:

  1. Sign in to Cloud Platform as a user with the Owner or Administrator role.

  2. In the top menu, click Develop.

  3. Click Tag Manager. Cloud Platform displays the Tag Manager in a modal window.

  4. Under Select an organization, select the organization containing the applications you want to tag.

  5. Under Select applications, select the applications you want to remove a tag from.

    Under Tags in common, Cloud Platform displays all tags attached to every application you’ve selected.

  6. Click the X next to each tag you want to remove.

    Cloud Platform displays the tag under Tags to remove, as displayed in the following example:

  7. Click Review if you are happy with your changes, or click the plus ( + ) sign on the tag to keep the tag.

  8. Click Save to save your changes.

Cloud Platform deletes the tags from the applications.

Note

Acquia can’t restore application tags that have been deleted.
