Importing an existing website

After your new subscription is created on Acquia Cloud, you can import a Drupal website into your new site's Acquia Cloud environments. There are several ways to import a website to Acquia Cloud, and the available options vary depending on the size and complexity of your website.

To import your existing website into Acquia Cloud, select from the following methods:

  • Cloud > Workflow page. This works best for sites that aren't very large (site archive under 100 MB).
  • Acquia Connector. This is a simple method, but works best for sites that are under 1 GB in size.
  • Acquia Dev Desktop. This requires downloading and installing Acquia Dev Desktop, which is available for Windows and Mac OS X. It is otherwise simple and works well for sites both large and small.
  • Drush-based import process. This requires comfort with Drush and other command-line tools, but works well for sites both large and small.

If none of these import methods works for you, you can use the manual import process, which works well for sites both large and small, but requires familiarity with source control and command line tools.
