List of supported countries

Postal address validation and standardization

This data processing is done via a third-party component called “Melissa Data”.

Currently supported countries :

  • US
  • CA
  • UK
  • TR

Default behavior if the country is not provided, or not in the list above :

  • If the country on either the customer address or the organization address is not provided, or non-standard, we will default to “US” and try to standardize and validate based on that.
  • If the country is valid but not part of the above list, we will not try to validate it. We will pass the data through “as is”, the “Certified” field will stay empty, and the “DPV Confirmed” field will be updated to “N”.

Distance to store

Distance-to-store calculation is done on the primary address of each customer, by computing the distance “as crow flies” between the geographic center of the zipcode where the customer lives and the geographic center of the zipcode where the stores are located.

This relies on getting accurate zipcode data from your data feeds on both Organization and Customer/Address objects, and on the third-party zipcode data we get from our vendors (“Zip-codes.com” for the US, and “PostcodeList.co.uk” for the UK).

Note

distance-to-store calculation is technically not part of the validation/ standardization processing : it’s done as part of the summaries calculations, ie after all validation->standardization->deduping have been done. That being said, there is also a restriction on which countries are supported and which are not, so for easy reference we are listing those in this article as well.
