Using Snowflake Data Share

This page provides information about using the Snowflake data share for the following scenario:

IT engineers want to integrate data using data share listings.

Pre-requisites

  • You must be an ACCOUNTADMIN or have a role with the IMPORT SHARE and CREATE DATABASE permissions.

  • You must use Snowflake Snowsight. If you are using the Snowflake Classic UI, click the Snowsight icon.

Sharing the Account Identifier with Acquia

You must send the account identifier to Acquia. Acquia notifies you when the data share is ready. You can share the account identifier with Acquia through the following ways:

Classic Console

To get the account identifier from classic console:

  1. Log in to the Snowflake database.
  2. Click your user name.
  3. In the Account Information section, click Copy.

Snowflake web UI

To get the account identifier from the Snowflake web UI:

  1. Log in to the Snowflake database.
  2. Click Account name and hover on the item list.
  3. In the Snowglobe section, click the Copy icon.

Using Snowflake data share

To use Snowflake data share:

  1. Select the ACCOUNTADMIN role.

  2. Go to Data > Private Sharing.

    Search for listing with the name format: A1SF Listing <EnvironmentID> <TenantID>

  3. Click Get.

    The following are the scenarios: 

    • If the email associated with the current user is verified, the system displays the following dialog box:

    • If the email associated with the current user is not verified, the system displays the following dialog box:

    1. Click Re-send verification email.

      The system sends you the verification email.

    2. Check your inbox and validate the verification email. 

    3. Click VALIDATE YOUR EMAIL.

      The system displays the success message dialog box.

    4. Go to the Snowflake database and click Get.

      The system sends an email notification once the data is synced.

  4. Go to the Snowflake database and click Get.

    The system displays the following dialog box:

  5. Click Get.

    The system displays the following dialog box:

  6. Click Get.

    The system displays the following dialog box.

  7. To start querying the shared objects, click Query Data.

  8. Inform your CVM that you have completed all the necessary steps.
