Acquia DAM

Using a custom domain name

You can customize your Acquia DAM Classic domain name to match your company’s domain name, such as images.example.com.

All Acquia DAM Classic accounts are securely encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL). To ensure your Acquia DAM Classic account is always secure, we require you to provide an SSL certificate when implementing custom domains for your account.

Getting started

  1. Contact Acquia Support if your company is interested in implementing a custom domain.

  2. Obtain an SSL certificate for your custom domain through one of the following methods:

    • Purchase an SSL certificate for the custom domain from a certificate signing request (CSR): You can request a certificate signing request (CSR) from your Acquia Account Manager. A CSR is required for purchasing an SSL certificate.

    • Provide an existing SSL certificate to Acquia Support: If your organization already has an SSL certificate for your custom domain, be sure to include the private key with your SSL certificate.

  3. Upload the SSL certificate to your server.

    Important

Don’t share the certificate through the ticketing system. For more information, see How to securely share information with Acquia Support.

  4. Have your IT team set up a CNAME record for the custom domain to point to your Acquia DAM Classic domain.

Acquia will notify you when the SSL certificate is set up. At that point, you will be able to securely access your Acquia DAM Classic account through your custom domain.

Supported certificate types

Acquia DAM Classic supports the following certificate types:

  • Single domain (most common)

  • Subject alternative name (SAN)

Acquia DAM Classic-installed certificates are on an Apache web server, and any certificate that you provide must be in PEM format.
