Restricting metadata field access

This feature is available only to Acquia DAM Classic Professional subscribers.

Professional subscription admins can restrict access to certain metadata fields based on user groups. Users’ ability to view asset metadata is restricted to what their group has permission to view. In addition, only the metadata that their group has permission to view will be embedded in the asset upon download.

Example use case: You may have assets which include confidential metadata like photographer address or contract information. You can restrict access to these metadata fields to specific user groups such as legal or accounts payable.

Applying metadata permissions

  1. Sign in to the core application and click Settings in the top navigation panel.

  2. Select Metadata Schema. Group permissions are located in the right column, under Metadata Groups. The default permission is Everyone.

  3. Click field to display a menu of groups. Select the groups you want to give access to the metadata field.

  4. Remove permissions for a group by clicking the (X) on the right side of the group.

  5. Click the Save changes button when finished.
