Adobe Creative Cloud connector installation guide

The Adobe Creative Cloud connector is an add-on feature. Contact your Account Manager to add it to your subscription.

With the connector for Adobe Creative Cloud, designers can drag and drop assets into Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, or Adobe Illustrator directly from Acquia DAM Classic.

To install the connector, you must be signed in to your local computer’s administrator account; guest or secondary accounts cannot install the connector.

After installation, only Admin or Contributor accounts will grant access to Acquia DAM Classic using the connector.

Installing the connector for Adobe Creative Cloud for macOS

  1. Exit all Adobe programs.

  2. Download the connector .pkg file.

  3. Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions.

  4. Select the Shift + Option + Command + Control keys while starting InDesign.
    If you are opening InDesign from your dock, you may also have to click Open.

  5. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.

    Note

    If the notification doesn’t display, you were too late in holding down the keys. Quit InDesign and try again.

  6. Open the Acquia DAM Classic panel after installation.

  7. Open InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop.

  8. Click Window in the top menu, and then click Extensions > WebdDAM CC Connector.

  9. After you open the panel, enter your Acquia DAM Classic credentials.

Installing the connector for Adobe Creative Cloud for Windows

  1. Exit all Adobe programs.

  2. Download the connector .exe file.

  3. Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions.

  4. Start InDesign, and then select the Shift + Ctrl + Alt keys.

  5. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.

    Note

    If the notification doesn’t display, you were too late in holding down the keys. Quit InDesign and try again.

  6. Open the Acquia DAM Classic panel after installation.

  7. Open InDesign, Illustrator, or Photoshop.

  8. Click Window in the top menu, and then go to Extensions > WebDAM CC Connector.

  9. After you open the panel, enter your Acquia DAM Classic credentials.

Uninstalling the Adobe Creative Cloud connector

Note

The installer should remove any previous versions for you. Use the following steps only if you encounter an installation error.

macOS users

  1. Exit all Adobe programs.

  2. Open a Finder window.

  3. Open your Library folder.

  4. Click Go in the menu, and then click Go to Folder.

  5. In the path field, enter: ~/Library

  6. Navigate the directory path to /Library/ApplicationSupport/Adobe/CEP/extensions and then move the WebdamCCConnector file to the trash.

  7. Open your Applications folder.

  8. Navigate the directory path to /Applications/Adobe InDesign CC 201#/Plug-Ins and then move the SiliconConnectorWebdam file to the trash.

Windows users

  1. Exit all Adobe programs.

  2. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program.

  3. Uninstall WebdamCCConnector.

If you want to retain existing InDesign plug-ins, don’t use the uninstaller. Instead, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\WebdamCCConnector and then delete the folder.
