This webpage describes the regular updates Acquia has made to Acquia Developer Studio. Note that some release dates may be in the future to allow for subscribers to prepare their environments for upcoming product versions.

Acquia Developer Studio CLI release notes

Acquia Developer Studio CLI 1.34.0 - January 21, 2020

  • Feature The ads ide:list command now returns the IDE list in a table.
  • Feature Running the ads new command now maintains a clean Git repository.
  • Fix Downloading Drush aliases from Acquia Cloud sometimes failed when the API access token expired.
  • Fix Cloning a new Acquia Cloud project failed on occasion.

Acquia Developer Studio CLI 1.28.0 - December 17, 2019

  • Change The default lando.yml file was updated in the Acquia Developer Studio CLI so users can easily change their PHP and Node.js versions.
  • Change The opt-in text for performance usage and data sharing was updated in Acquia Developer Studio CLI.
  • Change A flag was added to the Acquia Developer Studio CLI to prevent users from having to set up their credentials for using the Acquia Cloud API when the API isn’t already set up.
  • Fix Attempts to run the ads new command to create a new project with PHP 7.4 failed.
  • Fix When attempting to select applications in the Acquia Developer Studio CLI in Windows, users experienced an error.
  • Fix When attempting to run the ads init command, the Acquia Developer Studio CLI ran the composer install command at the wrong time, causing an error to be displayed.
  • Fix Some users experienced errors when using headers to browse Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDE.

Acquia Developer Studio CLI 1.11.1 - October 30, 2019

  • Change The ads clone command now supports adding Acquia BLT when cloning an existing project.
  • Change The Acquia Developer Studio CLI now includes various improvements to user interface elements.
  • Fix Attempting to create a new project in Windows using the ads new command failed.

Acquia Developer Studio CLI 1.6.1 - October 16, 2019

  • Change When running the ads new or ads clone command, the Acquia Developer Studio CLI now tests to confirm minimum installation requirements have been met.
  • Change The ads clone command can now clone projects that don’t use Acquia BLT.
  • Fix When attempting to select an installation profile with arrow keys, Acquia Developer Studio CLI displayed error messages.
  • Fix When attempting to install a new website using the ads new command, Acquia Developer Studio CLI failed to exit if the Drush site installation command failed.
  • Fix Subscribers without write permissions couldn’t delete local environments after running the ads destroy command.
  • Fix When attempting to run the ads clone command in a Linux environment, Acquia Developer Studio CLI failed to install Drush, and displayed improperly escaped characters.

Acquia Developer Studio CLI - September 18, 2019

This initial release of Acquia Developer Studio CLI provides users with the following command-line capabilities for your local virtual environment:

  • Feature You can now access the Acquia Cloud API v2 with CLI commands.
  • Feature You can create new Drupal projects with the ads new command.
  • Feature You can deploy to Acquia Cloud websites with the ads deploy command.
  • Feature You can refresh your local environment with files and databases from Acquia Cloud with the ads refresh command.
  • Feature You can directly run Acquia BLT and Drush commands with the ads run command.
  • Feature You can create and upload SSH keys to Acquia Cloud with the ads ssh-key:create command.

Acquia Developer Studio IDE release notes

Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDE – January 20, 2020

  • Feature The Acquia Developer Studio CLI is now fully supported in the Remote IDE.
  • Change Remote IDE users can upload SSH keys they generate within the IDE directly to their Acquia Cloud profile.
  • Change The Remote IDE Welcome page was removed and merged with the Getting Started page.
  • Change The Remote IDE feature now can fetch and populate code, databases, and files from Acquia Cloud.
  • Fix Remote IDE displayed a blank page when users attempted to click Help> View Documentation to view the Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDE documentation page.
  • Fix Attempts to view a website using the Preview tab failed in the Remote IDE.
  • Fix Attempts to change the PHP version in the Remote IDE failed.

Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDE – November 21, 2019

  • Feature The Get Started tab includes a Create Drupal 8 Project button for creating a Drupal 8 project.
  • Feature The Get Started tab now includes detailed instructions for using the command line to create a Drupal 8 project with Composer.
  • Change Remote IDE now provides a shortened bash prompt that allows users to both simplify the view for current line and better display the close button when viewing multiple terminals.
  • Change The settings.php workflow was updated to adhere to Drupal best practices.
  • Fix When users ran the drush uli command, Remote IDE displayed an incorrect hostname.
  • Fix Remote IDE displayed an error message when users attempted to open PHP files.
  • Fix Attempts to write to the default.conf file failed.
  • Fix Users attempting to use headers for browsing caused Remote IDE to display error messages.

Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDE – October 4, 2019

  • Change Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDEs now provide 60 GB of disk space.
  • Change Subscribers can now configure standard Drupal plugins in their Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDEs.
  • Fix Subscribers were unable to install Drupal after provisioning a new Remote IDE instance and installing the Acquia Lightning project.

Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDE – September 30, 2019

This initial release of Acquia Developer Studio Remote IDE provides users with the following resources which remove your need to configure, run, and maintain a local Drupal development stack:

  • Feature Acquia Developer Studio now includes a browser-based integrated development environment (IDE).
  • Feature Acquia Developer Studio now includes a source code editor.
  • Feature The integrated development environment now includes an Acquia Cloud-based Drupal development stack.
