Q. How can I exclude inactive domains from the scan?
A.. The crawler finds all pages that it can access, including where live links are present to connect the pages. There are a few ways to exclude old or inactive domains:
-
Contact the support team and provide an accurate sitemap so that we can ensure that the crawler only follows the specific path.
-
Create link exclusions to prevent the crawler from scanning anything on the inactive domain(s).
For more information, see the user guide article:
Path Constraints and Link Exclusions.
-
Create path constraints that specify exactly what the scan covers.
For more information, see the user guide article:
Path Constraints and Link Exclusions.
-
It is also possible that the scan already detected that the domain is inactive. When this happens, a warning indicator (orange triangle with an exclamation point inside) is shown on the same row as a domain. It can also label a domain as inactive when the domain is not set up to actively scan on the platform.
For more information, see the user guide article:
Configure Domain Scans.
