Password security

To ensure the security of user accounts, it’s important to both select a strong password and to change your password on occasion. Although Acquia Journey does its part by enforcing periodic password changes for user accounts, it’s up to you to ensure the passwords you select are safe and secure.

Password requirements

To help with password security, Acquia Journey requires any passwords you use must meet the following criteria:

  • Contain at least eight characters, with a maximum of 50 characters
  • Contain at least one of each of the following characters:
    • Lowercase letter (a through z)
    • Uppercase letter (A through Z)
    • Number (0 through 9)
    • Special character, from the following character set: ! @ # $ % ^ & *
  • Can’t be in the list of the past five passwords used for the account

Periodic password resets

Acquia Journey enforces periodic password changes every 90 days. If your password expires, Acquia Journey will display a notification message on the sign-in webpage.

To reset your password and choose a new password meeting the previously specified criteria, complete the following steps:

  1. On the Acquia Journey sign-in page, click the Manage Password link to display the Manage Password dialog box.
  2. In the Email field, enter your email address.
  3. Click Email Password Token.
  4. After you receive your reset token email, open the email, and then copy the token to your clipboard.
  5. Click the I Have My Password Token tab, and then in the Token field paste your token.
  6. In the New Password field, enter a new password using the preceding Password requirements.
  7. Confirm your password by entering it again in the Confirm New Password field.
  8. Click Reset Password to save your new password.

You can now use your new password to sign in to Acquia Journey.
