Tracking site activity with Acquia Lift

To track activity on your website, your website must send visitors' interactions back to the Acquia Lift service. To do this, add the following JavaScript tracker script to each webpage that you want to track (or has events to be tracked).

Adding the JavaScript tracker

To add the tracker to a webpage, add the following code to your webpage's HTML code in the head tag (where <account_id> is your account ID as provided by Acquia — for example, EXAMPLEINC — and <customer_site> is the value configured in Profile Manager that the captures should be associated with):

<script type="text/javascript">

   var _tcaq = _tcaq || [];
  _tcaq.push(['setAccount', '<account_id>', '<customer_site>']);
   (function() {
      function async_load()
      {
         var s = document.createElement('script');
         s.type = 'text/javascript';
         s.async = true;
         s.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https' : 'http') + '://cdn.lift.acquia.com/<account_id>/tc.js';
         var x = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0];
         x.parentNode.insertBefore(s, x);
      }
      if (window.attachEvent)
         window.attachEvent('onload', async_load);
      else
         window.addEventListener('load', async_load, false);
   })();

</script>

JavaScript tracker code location

The following example demonstrates the JavaScript tracker's location in your webpage's code:

<html>
  <head>
    <title>Your webpage</title>
      <!-- meta tags, SEO keywords, and other scripts --!>

      <script type="text/javascript">
         <!-- Acquia Lift JavaScript tracker script --!>
      </script>

  </head>
  <body>
