Creating a landing page
To familiarize yourself with Drupal Canvas, start by creating a landing page. This is a standalone page where you choose the layout and build the content visually.
To create a landing page in your website, do the following:
Access your site.
- On the top right, click Edit to open Drupal Canvas.
On the top center, click the page title to open the navigator.
The page navigator helps you to navigate between pages within Drupal Canvas.
Click New > New Page.
This creates a new draft page where you can add sections and components. Publish the page after it is ready.
Adding the landing page to a menu
After the draft landing page is created, add it to a menu to ensure easy navigation and accessibility for site visitors.
To add the landing page to a menu, do the following:
- In Drupal Canvas, click the Drupal icon on the top left to exit.
- In the left sidebar, click Structure > Menus.
Select the menu where you want to add the link. For example, main navigation.

- On the top right of the page, click Add link.
- In the Menu link title field, enter a title for the menu link for the landing page.
- In the Link field, start typing the name of the landing page and select it when it is displayed in the list.
- In the Parent link field, select the parent page for the landing page.
Click Save.
The system returns to the Edit menu page.
- (Optional) To move a menu link, drag its crossbar icon and place it in the desired position in the Menu link list.
- (Optional) To nest a menu link under another menu link, drag its crossbar icon slightly to the right and place it under the desired menu link in the Menu link list.
Adding components to the landing page
Each page in Drupal Canvas is made up of components. You can add components from the default set provided by Acquia Source or create your own custom components.
