This section provides instructions about how to create and publish a landing page with Drupal Canvas.

Accessing a site

Use the following steps to access a site:

Log in to Acquia Source to open the Sites Dashboard.
Locate the site that you want to access.
Click Edit Site.

Creating a landing page

To familiarize yourself with Drupal Canvas, start by creating a landing page. This is a standalone page where you choose the layout and build the content visually.

Use the following steps to create a landing page in your website:

Access your site.
On the top right, click Edit to open Drupal Canvas.
On the top center, click the page title to open the navigator.
The navigator helps you to navigate between pages within Drupal Canvas.
Click New > New Page.
This creates a new draft page where you can add sections and components. This page can be published after it is ready.

After the draft landing page is created, add it to a menu to ensure easy navigation and accessibility for site visitors.

Use the following steps to add the landing page to a menu:

In the Drupal Canvas user interface, click the Drupal icon on the top left to exit.
In the left sidebar, click Structure > Menus.
Select the menu where you want to add the link. For example, main navigation.
For more information, visit Menus.
On the top right of the page, click Add link.
In the Menu link title field, enter a title for the menu link for the landing page.
In the Link field, start typing the name of the landing page and select it when it is displayed in the list.
In the Parent link field, select the parent page for the landing page.
Click Save.
(Optional) To move a menu link, drag its crossbar icon and place it in the desired position.
(Optional) To nest a menu link under another menu link, drag its crossbar icon slightly to the right and place it under the desired menu link.

Adding components to the landing page

Each page in Drupal Canvas is made up of components. You can add components from the default set provided by Acquia Source or create your own custom components.

Use the following steps to add components to the landing page:

Access your site.
On the top right, click Edit to open Drupal Canvas.
In the toolbar on the left, click the Add (+) icon.
Drag the component you need, use the purple guideline to position it, and drop it where you want it on the page.
Configure the settings (props) of the component in the right sidebar.
These changes are not published until you choose to publish the page.

Publishing the landing page

All of the changes inside Drupal Canvas are saved automatically in a temporary workspace.

Use the following steps to preview the page and publish it:

On the top right of Drupal Canvas, click Preview to preview how the page would look to a site visitor, without the Drupal Canvas interface.
On the top right of Drupal Canvas, click Review changes.
Choose to only publish specific changes (Selective Publishing) or all of them.
