Previewing a campaign in Personalization

In Personalization, you can preview a campaign to see what your users see on the live website.

To preview a campaign:

Sign in to Personalization.
Click Personalize > Campaigns.
In List, find the campaign you want to preview.
Click the campaign name.
In the Rules & Content section, click Preview Campaign. If the campaign has no defined rules, the button is grayed out. A preview of the live website page with the campaign displays. Personalization redirects to the URL specified for the slot in the preview mode.
Note
If there are multiple URLs, Personalization redirects to the first or 0 spot URL for the rule or slot.

Previewing segments with the segment selector

After you’re in the preview mode, you can preview one or more segments using the segment selector. The selector enables you to search and select segments to preview the page as while in the preview mode.

To preview segments with the segment selector:

Sign in to Personalization.
Click Personalize > Campaigns.
In List, find the campaign you want to preview.
Click the campaign name.
In the Rules & Content section, click Preview Campaign. A preview of the live website page with the campaign is displayed.
In the upper-right corner, click CURRENT SEGMENTS: [Segment title]. The segment title will default to the segment selected when the campaign was published. Alternately, you can click the Hide/Show content button (^) to open or close the list of current segments.
In the Search Segments field, start typing to search for a segment in the menu or select the checkbox for one or more of the current segments listed to preview the page as a visitor to the website meeting the segment criteria. The segment selector will display the total number of segments found based on your choices for the campaign you’re previewing. When you select more than one segment, the Current Segment title changes to [X] segments selected.
In the lower right of the segment selector, click X Clear All to remove your selections.
To preview the page as all visitor segments, you can deselect your choices or click X Clear All to remove your selections which changes the CURRENT SEGMENT title to CURRENT SEGMENTS: Everyone.

After selecting the segments to preview, you can move around the website to view any page as a visitor to the website with those segment selections.
