2019 Release notes - Acquia Dev Desktop

Important

End of Support notice! Acquia has stopped support for Dev Desktop on June 30, 2021. Acquia recommends that you transition to Acquia Cloud IDE for a managed development environment on Cloud Platform. For more information, see Migrating from Dev Desktop to Cloud IDE.

Acquia also provides limited integration with open source alternatives to Cloud IDE for local development. For more information, see Local development solutions.

Acquia Dev Desktop - October 23, 2019

  • Feature Acquia Dev Desktop is now compatible with macOS Catalina.

  • Feature Acquia Dev Desktop now fully supports 64-bit operating systems.

  • Feature PHP 7.3 is now available in Acquia Dev Desktop.

  • Change PHP versions for macOS and Windows were updated to 7.2.22 and 7.3.9.

Acquia Dev Desktop - June 20, 2019

  • Change Updated PHP to versions 7.0.32, 7.1.29, 7.2.18 for both macOS and Windows.

  • Change Composer and Drush now use the same version of PHP in Acquia Dev Desktop.

  • Change Acquia Dev Desktop now supports Drush 9.

  • Change Subscribers can now access the PHP Code Sniffer and the PHP Code Beautifier and Fixer from the Drush Console.

  • Change composer.phar is now aliased to composer.

  • Fix Pushing and pulling code failed when wget attempted to transfer files with TLS 1.0.

  • Fix When accessing a website requiring a missing root certificate, Acquia Dev Desktop displayed error messages.

Acquia Dev Desktop - February 20, 2019

  • Change Updated PHP to versions 7.0.32, 7.1.25, 7.2.13 for both macOS and Windows.

  • Change Acquia Dev Desktop now supports Xdebug for Windows.

  • Change Acquia Dev Desktop now supports XHProf profiling in PHP 7 with the Tideways extension.

  • Change Attempting to install an SSH key that’s not provisioned now displays an error message.

  • Fix Acquia Dev Desktop failed to insert a newline character at the end of the hosts file.

  • Fix Creating database dumps in Acquia Dev Desktop failed.

  • Fix In certain circumstances, Acquia Dev Desktop failed to install.

  • Fix Installation notifications displayed an outdated link.

  • Fix In certain circumstances, users couldn’t submit a help request.
