Support scope
Acquia supports the integration of PHP extensions with the Customer’s Drupal implementation. The Customer is responsible for compiling compatible PHP extensions and for providing .so
files in their code repository. See Adding non-Drupal PHP extensions or libraries. Customer is responsible for troubleshooting any resulting PHP functionality issues.
PHP 7.4 Support
PHP 7.4 reached its end of life on November 28, 2022. All Acquia Cloud customers will receive PHP 7.4 support until March 29, 2024 for no additional charge. This provides customers with an assurance that applications that are dependent on PHP 7.4 will continue to function and remain compatible with Acquia’s Drupal Cloud platform, subject to certain limitations. Despite the PHP community’s EOL for PHP 7.4, Acquia will continue to provide security updates for PHP 7.4 according to Acquia’s Security Patch Management policy.
Acquia will offer extended support for PHP 7.4 until November 30, 2025 under the PHP 7.4 Long Term Support Program paid offering.
- Acquia Cloud Professional Self-Service: All Acquia Cloud self-service customers will receive PHP 7.4 support until March 29, 2024.
- To receive support for PHP 7.4 after March 2024, Acquia Cloud self-service customers must upgrade to an Acquia Cloud managed service subscription and purchase PHP 7.4 Long Term Support by April 1, 2024.
- All Acquia Cloud self-service customers with applications running PHP 7.4 will be force upgraded if they do not upgrade to an Acquia Cloud managed service subscription and purchase PHP 7.4 Long Term Support by April 1, 2024.
- Acquia Cloud contract non-Drupal 7 applications: All Acquia Cloud Platform and Acquia Site Factory customers with non-Drupal 7 applications will receive PHP 7.4 support until March 31, 2024.
- To receive support for PHP 7.4 after March 2024 for non-Drupal 7 applications, Acquia Cloud Platform and Acquia Site Factory customers must purchase PHP 7.4 Long Term Support by April 1, 2024.
- All Acquia Cloud Platform and Acquia Site Factory customers with non-Drupal 7 applications running PHP 7.4 will be force upgraded if they do not purchase PHP 7.4 Long Term Support by April 1, 2024.
- Acquia Cloud contract Drupal 7 applications: All Acquia Cloud Platform and Acquia Site Factory customers with Drupal 7 applications will receive PHP 7.4 support until October 31, 2024.
- To receive support for PHP 7.4 after October 2024 for Drupal 7 applications, Acquia Cloud Platform and Acquia Site Factory customers must purchase PHP 7.4 Long Term Support by November 1, 2024.
- All Acquia Cloud Platform and Acquia Site Factory customers with Drupal 7 applications running PHP 7.4 will be force upgraded if they do not purchase PHP 7.4 Long Term Support by November 1, 2024.
PHP 7.4 Long Term Support (LTS) Program
The Acquia PHP 7.4 LTS program is a subscription extension of Acquia’s PHP 7.4 support for Acquia Cloud Platform and Acquia Site Factory subscriptions through November 30, 2025. This paid program is for Acquia contract customers who want access to PHP 7.4 support beyond the mentioned deadline. The PHP 7.4 LTS program begins from April 1, 2024 and ends on November 30, 2025. Security coverage of PHP 7.4 shall be performed according to Acquia’s Security Patch Management policy.
Acquia strongly encourages customers to upgrade to a currently supported PHP version as soon as possible.
