Acquia® will provide Acquia DAM or Acquia DAM Classic services only if purchased by the Customer, as indicated in the Order.
Acquia DAM Classic is a cloud digital asset management application that enables creatives and marketers to efficiently store, find, manage, use, and track rich media assets from creation through delivery as part of customer journeys powered by the Acquia Platform.
Acquia DAM Classic
1. Definitions
For purposes of this section, the following definitions will be used:
- Acquia DAM Classic: The primary Acquia DAM Classic application, excluding any of the Acquia DAM Classic add-ons such as Acquia DAM Classic Workstream, Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect, Acquia DAM Classic Connector for Adobe Creative Cloud®, and Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates.
- Acquia DAM Classic Bundle: A collection of prepackaged Acquia DAM Classic capabilities.
- Customer System: A Customer’s MacOS® or Microsoft Windows® computer on which Adobe Creative Cloud has been installed.
- End User: An Acquia DAM Classic user with restricted access to Acquia DAM Classic, and Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect, if purchased. These users can view and download assets.
- Power User: An Acquia DAM Classic user with privileged access to Acquia DAM Classic, and Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect and Acquia DAM Classic Workstream, if purchased. These users have full asset and folder permissions and can configure the system preferences, metadata schema and user and group permissions.
- User Seat: A licensed instance on MacOS or Microsoft Windows.
2. Acquia DAM Classic
Acquia DAM Classic provides the central asset repository used by Power Users and End Users to securely manage marketing assets.
Acquia DAM Classic includes the following capabilities:

2.10. Availability
The Acquia DAM Classic Bundle shall be determined in accordance with the subscription tier purchased by the Customer.
2.11. Acquia DAM Classic Bundles
DAM Classic Basic entitles power users, end users, storage, and custom metadata fields.
DAM Classic Starter entitles power users, end users, storage, and custom metadata fields.
DAM Classic Professional entitles Power Users, End Users, Storage, Custom Metadata Fields, Metadata Group Permissions, Scheduled Publishing, Download Rules, Registration Rules, Custom Form Fields, Audit Report Logs, Embeddable Assets, and SSO Authentic Integration.
2.12. Acquia DAM Classic Add-ons
Acquia DAM Classic entitlements can be extended through add-ons if purchased by Customer, as indicated in the Order.

3. Acquia DAM Classic Workstream
Acquia DAM Classic Workstream optimizes the creative workflow for Acquia DAM Classic by aligning people, tasks and approvals so Customer can produce assets more efficiently. Workstream enables teams to focus on their assets, automates approval paths, and supports reviews and markups between creatives and marketers. Key capabilities include creative briefs, task lists, collaboration tools, proofing tools, configurable workflows, approvals, and notifications.
3.1. Availability
Acquia DAM Classic Workstream is available to purchase as an add-on to Acquia DAM Classic. Acquia DAM Classic Workstream requires the purchase of one or more Acquia DAM Classic Workstream Power Users.
4. Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect
Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect is a brand management platform for Acquia DAM Classic that centralizes approved content with configurable brand guidelines and distribution controls, enabling the Customer to keep their brand on strategy while making their assets available for use by internal and external constituents.
4.1. Availability
Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect is available to purchase as an add-on to Acquia DAM Classic.
Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect includes one portal for a single brand, and the ability to purchase additional portals for additional brands.
5. Acquia DAM Classic Connector for Adobe Creative Cloud
The Acquia DAM Classic Connector for Adobe Creative Cloud allows the Customer to work within Photoshop®, Illustrator®, and InDesign® and easily save assets to and load assets from Acquia DAM Classic.
5.1. Systems Requirements
Acquia DAM Classic Connector for Adobe Creative Cloud is supported on macOS and Microsoft Windows. Acquia DAM Classic Connector requires Adobe Creative Cloud 2015 or 2017 on each Customer System on which the Connector will be installed.
5.2. Availability
Acquia DAM Classic Connector for Adobe Creative Cloud is available to purchase as an add-on to Acquia DAM Classic. The Connector for Adobe Creative Cloud includes one User Seat, with the ability to purchase additional User Seats.
6. Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates
Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates allow the Customer to make parts of their Adobe InDesign® marketing materials customizable while keeping other parts static, so colleagues and partners can personalize presentations, business cards, catalogs, brochures and other materials without using InDesign®, and without risking brand consistency.
6.1. System Requirements
Acquia DAM Classic Templates are supported on MacOS and Microsoft Windows. Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates require Adobe InDesign CC 2018® on each Customer System on which the Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates will be reated or edited.
Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates require the purchase of the Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect add-on when the Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates will be made available to external End Users.
6.2. Availability
Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates are available to purchase as an add-on to Acquia DAM Classic, and is available in two versions:
- Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates: 100 supports up to 100 dynamic templates.
- Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates: Unlimited supports an unlimited number of dynamic templates.
7. Customer Onboarding
Customer will have access to self-paced, electronic learning (e-learning) resources available through Acquia’s learning management platform. The resources will enable Customer to learn about the features and functions of Acquia DAM Classic in preparation for their Acquia DAM Classic implementation.
7.1. Acquia DAM Classic New Customer Onboarding
The Acquia DAM Classic New Customer Onboarding service is delivered through e-learning courses specific to the Acquia DAM Classic services that the Customer has purchased. The e-learning courses will be available for use by the Customer at any time, providing the Customer with the ability to learn at their own pace and schedule, by one or many users. The courses include video training along with quizzes to accelerate the Customer’s implementation and adoption of Acquia DAM Classic.
Acquia will provide the following e-learning courses:

Workstream Training (if purchased) | This course introduces the Customer to the configuration and use of Acquia DAM Classic Workstream to support creative workflows within their organization. |
Brand Connect Classic Training (if purchased) | This course introduces to the Customer how to configure and customize their Acquia DAM Classic Brand Connect brand portal. |
Acquia will also provide two document templates that can be customized by the Customer for internal training of their Acquia DAM Classic end users:
- End User Training Template: Designed to be customized for Customer end users that can search across Acquia DAM Classic metadata fields and download assets (or presets of assets).
- Contributor Training Template: Designed to be customized for Customer power users that can upload assets, edit metadata on assets, and manage assets in the Customer’s Acquia DAM Classic instance.
8. Service Level Policy
This Service Level Policy governs the use of Acquia DAM Classic under the terms of the applicable Order between Acquia and Customer.
8.1. Service Commitment
Acquia will use commercially reasonable efforts to make Acquia DAM Classic available for 99.95% during any calendar month during the applicable Subscription Term (the “Service Commitment”). In the event Acquia does not meet the Service Commitment, Customer will be eligible to receive a Service Extension as described in the following sections.
8.2. Definitions
Availability will be calculated per calendar month, as follows:
Where:
- total: The total number of minutes for the calendar quarter.
- non-excluded: Downtime/unavailability that is not excluded
- excluded: The Service Commitment exclusions defined below.
Unavailability means that the SaaS infrastructure is unresponsive or responds with an error.
8.3. Service Extension
In the event that Acquia does not meet 99.95% general availability of Acquia DAM Classic for a calendar quarter, for each one-half hour of unavailability Customer will receive one-day extension of their Subscription (each a “Service Extension”). To properly claim a Service Extension, Customer must inform Acquia within 15 days of the purported outage and provide a description of the service interruption. If Customer has accumulated Service Extensions during two consecutive months or three months in any six-month period, Customer may terminate the applicable Order upon seven days advance written notice to Acquia. In the event any Unavailability of Acquia DAM Classic is directly attributable to flaws in Customer’s environment (including the underlying code) where, despite reasonable notification from Acquia that such flaws are adversely impacting availability and Customer fails to correct such flaws, then Acquia may terminate the applicable Order upon 30-days written notice to Customer. The Service Extensions and termination rights constitute Customer’s exclusive remedy and Acquia’s sole liability and obligation for any failure to maintain the Service Commitment.
8.4. Service Commitment Exclusions
The Service Commitment does not apply to any Unavailability, outage, suspension or termination of any Acquia DAM Classic performance issues:
- Any planned downtime (not to exceed 36 hours in any calendar quarter) of which Acquia gives 24 or more hours’ notice in accordance with the Agreement or via a conspicuous on-screen message in the Services. Acquia will use commercially reasonable efforts to schedule all planned downtime during the hours from 6:00 PM Friday to 3:00 AM Monday, U.S. Pacific Time.
Any unavailability caused by circumstances beyond Acquia’s reasonable control, including, without limitation, acts of God, acts of government, flood, fire, earthquakes, civil unrest, acts of terror, strikes or other labor problems (other than those involving Acquia’s employees), or third party internet service provider failures or delays (other than those Internet Service Providers under contract with Acquia).
- This also includes unavailability that relates to any malware, viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, worms, or other malicious or harmful code in the website that (1) was not introduced by Acquia or (2) was not introduced as a result of Acquia’s failure to perform the Services in compliance with the standard included herein or in the Agreement; or (v) acts or omissions caused by Customer’s CDN.
In the event of any outages described above, Acquia will use commercially reasonable efforts to minimize any disruption, inaccessibility and/or inoperability of the website in connection with outages, whether scheduled or not.
For any partial calendar quarter during which Customer subscribes to the Services, availability will be calculated based on the entire calendar quarter, not just the portion for which Customer subscribed.
9. Support Services
Customer’s subscription to Acquia DAM Classic or Acquia DAM Classic Bundle includes unlimited diagnosis support as described in the in the Support Users’ Guide. Customer can contact Acquia Support in accordance with the Support Users Guide and in accordance with stated Urgency Levels. Initial response times for support requests vary on the urgency level and Customer’s Subscription tier as described in the Support Users Guide.
Third-party products such as Adobe® Creative Cloud® and Adobe® InDesign® are not provided by Acquia. Acquia support for these products is limited to their use with the Acquia DAM Classic Connector for Adobe® Creative Cloud® and Acquia DAM Classic Dynamic Templates.
10. Disaster Recovery
10.1. Data Centers
Acquia DAM Classic is delivered through the us-east-1 Data Center Region. Acquia DAM Classic Customer Data is redundant in two different Data Center Regions and synchronized in real-time. The Data Centers Regions are physically remote from Acquia’s office facilities. A disaster affecting one or more of Acquia’s offices would not impact the availability of Acquia DAM Classic.
10.2. Backups
Acquia will maintain a comprehensive backup of the Customer Acquia DAM Classic database. The backup will be performed on a nightly basis with incremental backups occurring throughout the day. Acquia will not provide Customer access to these backups and will not use these backups to restore Customer Data lost due to data-loss or deletion by Customer.

* Supported through direct AWS S3 or AWS Snowball import of asset into Acquia DAM Classic. Note that using the HTTP and FTP protocols limit the size of files that can be transferred to 2 GB.

12. Data Portability and Deletion
Upon request made by Customer within 7 days of termination or expiration of the Subscription Services, Acquia will make Customer Data and Customer Applications available to Customer for export or download. At the end of such 7-day period, Acquia will delete or otherwise render inaccessible any Customer Data and Customer Applications, unless legally prohibited. Acquia has no obligation to retain the Customer Data for Customer purposes after this 7-day post termination period.
