Managing your PaaS subscription
Before you do anything else, you must first complete a one-time configuration for your environment to be able to obtain access to your Acquia Cloud Site Factory codebase. Until you do this, you cannot access, edit, or update your websites' codebases.
To prepare your environment for code development, complete the following actions:
- Add your SSH key to Acquia Cloud.
- Clone your code repository.
- Select your websites' Drupal distribution (new installations only)
Add your SSH key to your Acquia Cloud profile
The first step is to ensure that your Acquia Cloud profile has your SSH key. For a step-by-step description of adding your SSH key to your profile, see Adding a public key.
Clone your code repository
After you’ve added your SSH key to the Acquia Cloud interface, you can clone your code from your Acquia Cloud Git repository to your local computer. Your code repository contains a basic Gardens distribution, along with its install files, profile, and required and default modules.
Create a new folder to contain the code repository, and then run the following command from within the folder:
git clone [Git_URL]
[Git_URL] is your Git repository's URL.
Obtaining the Git URL
To obtain your Git repository's URL:
- Sign in to Acquia Cloud.
- Select your subscription, and then go to Cloud > Workflow.
- Click Git URL to display a window that contains your subscription's Git URL.
Select the Drupal distribution for your sites
As a PaaS customer, you’re provided access to the full power of Acquia Cloud Site Factory — while we maintain the core platform, you have the freedom to develop your websites to meet your specific needs.
This freedom includes the ability to select the Drupal distribution that you'll use for the websites that are hosted on Acquia Cloud Site Factory. Because Acquia Cloud Site Factory websites share a docroot, the distribution you choose will be used for all of your websites.
Select either of the following options for your websites:
- Use your own custom Drupal distribution (recommended)
- Use the Gardens distribution included with Acquia Cloud Site Factory
After you've prepared your environment, you're ready to develop your Acquia Cloud Site Factory codebase.
