Introduction

This document provides details about the initial configuration required before using Code Studio.

Connect your application

After an Organization administrator enables Code Studio, complete these steps to connect your application and prepare your first pipeline.

Enable Code Studio for your subscription

In Cloud Platform, navigate to the Code Studio tab for your subscription.
Select Enable Code Studio.

Assign seats and roles

In the Code Studio tab, select Assign seats.
Add users and assign the appropriate roles. Verify that at least one user has permissions to manage projects and settings.

Note

You can assign only up to the number of user seats included with your subscription. If you require additional seats, contact your Acquia account representative.

Create a project linked to an application

In Cloud Platform, open the Code Studio area for the application you want to connect.
Select Create project for codebase.
Cloud Platform creates a Code Studio project, links it to the application, and configures the default CI/CD variables and settings for deployment.

Connect your code

New project: Initialize a Git repository in your development environment (Acquia Cloud IDE or local workstation), and push the codebase to the Code Studio remote repository URL.
Existing codebase: Add Code Studio as a Git remote and push your repository, or configure repository mirroring or webhooks if your primary repository is hosted on another service.

Verify CI/CD settings

In your Code Studio project, navigate to Settings > CI/CD > Variables and confirm that the required variables are populated.
Review your pipeline configuration file (for example, .gitlab-ci.yml) and adjust jobs according to your application requirements.
