After Acquia provisions Edge Standard for your account, you receive a welcome email that confirms the product availability. When you log in to the Edgeconsole, you can review the list of the custom domains associated with your Acquia Cloud subscription in the Domains tab. Follow these steps to complete the setup:
Configure each domain on the CDN.
When all domains show a Ready for DNS repointing status, update your DNS using the provided record to route traffic through the Edge network.
This process ensures that your site traffic routes through the Acquia Edge network for enhanced performance and security. When the repoint succeeds, the domain status appears as Configured.
Step 1: Configure domain within the Edge console
After you receive the email notification, access theEdge console at edge.acquia.com and log in with your Acquia ID.
Go to the Domains page.
For the domains you want to protect, select the ellipsis (three dots) for Actions and then select Configure Edge.
This action creates the necessary environment for this domain on the Edge CDN. The domain status indicates Connecting to Edge until the configuration is completed.
Note
This process can take from a few minutes to a few hours. Complete the configuration action for all domains that you redirect to Edge.
5. When the domain configuration is complete, the status changes to Ownership validation pending.
Step 2: Validate domain ownership
After the status changes to Ownership validation pending, you must complete the security handshake:
Open the DNS Information panel to get your unique SSL CNAME.
Log in to your DNS registrar account website, for example, GoDaddy or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Route 53.
Add the SSL CNAME record as a new CNAME entry in your DNS settings with host name _acme-challenge.<example.com>
The system searches for the record.
The status changes to Ready for DNS repointing
Step 3: Update DNS records at your registrar
To point your domain to Edge, log in to your domain DNS provider and add the CNAME provided in the Domain page, above your list of domains.
Create a record that looks like this:
Type: CNAME
Name/Host: www
Value/Points To: [the CNAME address provided in the Acquia Edge Console]
Log in to your external DNS registrar, for example, GoDaddy or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Route 53.
Identify the DNS management settings for the domain you selected.
Replace any existing A, AAAA, or CNAME record for the www subdomain with the CNAME record provided. When the DNS changes update, traffic begins to route through the Acquia Edge network.
Important
Expect potential downtime during the switchover, as DNS changes can take time to fully update across the internet, and Edge can take up to 10 minutes to serve the new site.
4. Access to the Domains page in the Edge console to confirm that the status for the domain indicates Configured.
